We've been working closely with North Baddesley Parish Council to maintain its green spaces.

As part of our collaboration, one of our employees, John Beard, is now working solely in the Parish grounds, carrying out general maintenance including; grass cutting, gardening, hedge cutting, watering plants and keeping the area tidy for local residents.

The last few weeks we've seen consistently high temperatures which can really affect the way we work on site.

The weather is getting cooler but with temperatures still in the 20's it can still have an impact on our teams;

🛑Heat stress
🛑Fatigue
🛑Errors made
🛑Equipment strain

According to the Met Office, summer 2026 was on course to being the hottest summer ever, therefore we may need to prepare for even warmer summers in the future.

Read our blog post:

As we’ve been dealing with an ongoing heat wave in the UK, we thought it was important to address some of the issues that might face the construction workforce. Heatwaves and droughts can disrupt the industry by causing worker fatigue and health risks, altering how materials cure or set, destabili...

Did anyone get a good view of the solar eclipse last night?

We managed to see the ‘Full Moon’, ‘Half Moon’, and a ‘Total Eclipse!’ 😂 (We know it works better with a Jaffa Cake but we worked with what we had!)

Our team helped to improve two ambulance stations in Hampshire, modifying the stations to make it easier for the staff to maintain the area surrounding the vehicles.

The work included;
✅New drainage systems for more efficient flow
✅Tanks installed underground
✅ Resurfacing the ground with fresh concrete

We know how important it is to keep these spaces running efficiently, to ensure the Ambulance service can serve the local community in an emergency.

Have you caught a glimpse of our new digger?

We’ve recently added this shiny, Takeuchi TB 2150 to our fleet. We’ve been using this 15.5 tonne steel tracked leviathan to clear sites, dig footings and lift sheet piles into position on sea defence work.

You may see it along the coast at Hill Head Beach through out the summer.

As the hot weather continues, we know more people will be heading to beaches and rivers to keep cool.

Which is why a big part of our civil engineering work is around protecting these waterways and the surrounding environments.

Here are some of the places we will be working over the coming weeks;

📍Isle of Wight, carrying out work for the Environment Agency at Ryde Beach.
📍Hillhead Harbour, removing shingle from the bank and recharging it.

Look out for our teams as we carry out various projects across the county.

Earlier this year, we worked with the Environment Agency and building supplier Burdens, in Shide, on the Isle of Wight, to carry out urgent repairs to this cycleway.

The project required:
☑️Rebuilding riverbanks
☑️ Repairing the cycleway to prevent it from falling into the river
☑️Resurfacing parts of the path

We took our own machine across the water to successfully complete this repair job.
