🔥 Not All Combi Boiler Swaps Are Created Equal... 🔥
What looked like a simple combi-to-combi boiler replacement soon revealed a number of issues that needed putting right.
On inspection, we found:
❌ Existing boiler installed above a doorway with insufficient clearance
❌ 15mm gas pipework running all the way back to the meter, leaving it undersized for the appliance
❌ Condensate pipe incorrectly installed and not terminating into a suitable soakaway
❌ Gas pipe entering the property from the rear of the meter, which is not compliant with current standards
❌ Main earth bonding installed in 6mm cable and requiring an upgrade
To bring everything up to standard, we:
✅ Installed the new boiler correctly with the required clearances
✅ Upgraded the gas supply pipework
✅ Corrected the condensate installation
✅ Rectified the gas pipe entry arrangement
✅ Upgraded the earth bonding from 6mm to 10mm
✅ Cored a new flue position and professionally made good the old flue opening
The finished result is a safer, compliant and more reliable heating system for the customer.
