⛳️ 𝗠𝗗𝗔 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝘆

We recently held our 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗗𝗔 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝘆 at Willow Valley Golf Course in Brighouse, and it was our 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝘁, with 17 players joining us!

The day was enjoyed by everyone, with plenty of plenty of laughs, great shots, a few that didn’t quite go to plan (especially those finding their way into the water 😅), and an accidental human flagstick moment!

A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it such a fantastic day. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year! 👏

🌿 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸! 🌿

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme is "𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻". While awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action to support ourselves and each other.

At Michael Dyson Associates Ltd, we are committed to fostering an 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 and 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 community in the workplace. Our trained 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 are available in every team for non-judgemental, proactive conversations about mental health. Plus, our 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 is here for everyone, offering additional support when needed.

Last week, our Wellbeing Mentors added tips on our internal notice board on how to support ‘𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵’, and held a cake sale to help 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 for the one our local organisations, 𝗛𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Huddersfield Mission has been based in the town centre for over 100 years, they help those struggling with multiple and complex needs such as homelessness, mental health, addiction and more. They focus on the immediate needs of our customers as well as the underlying cause of their issues. 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟵𝟬% of their customers report feeling an increased ability to cope, thanks to their support.

Thanks to everyone for buying cakes over the two days the sale was on. We managed to raise £𝟭𝟱𝟬

Michael Dyson Associates Ltd is once again delighted to continue supporting this worthy charity Circus Starr!

Their mission is to transform, enrich and inspire the lives of children and families who need it most, through the magical art of circus performance that is accessible in every way.

Their inclusive show comes to Huddersfield in June and our donation will go towards ensuring more children in our region have access to the performance, helping those who may usually feel isolated, to come together and experience happiness.

We are thrilled to announce that Richard Lawton MCIOB is now a Member of the 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 (CIOB) 🏛️

Richard joined the Contract Administration team in 2018 and is a highly experienced Building Surveyor and CDM professional leading a team of surveyors and project managers delivering housing development and refurbishment projects.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Richard shared, "I feel proud in achieving MCIOB status and have the recognition from an accredited professional body recognised throughout the construction industry that provides support in my day to day duties and offers the opportunity to align myself with professional standards that show I have a level of expertise within the Construction Industry”.

Michael Dyson Associates Ltd (MDA) are pleased to announce the award of a significant new contract for Thurrock Council, covering approximately 7,500 properties.

This large-scale programme will see us deliver 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆𝘀, including detailed assessments in line with 𝗛𝗛𝗦𝗥𝗦, ensuring risks to health and safety are clearly identified and prioritised. Alongside this, we will be undertaking 𝗘𝗣𝗖𝘀 to a proportion of the properties, providing up-to-date energy performance 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. Last week, our 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, Emma Taylor, hosted our annual Welcome Day for the 2026/27 placement intake.

Now in our 23𝐫𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 of offering industry placements, we’re delighted to welcome students joining our Asset Management, Contract Administration, and Architectural & Design teams. The day included team introductions, insights into life at MDA, and an overview of the support available throughout their placement year.

A huge thank you to Leah Ainsworth, Adam Eaton, Sarah Ashcroft, James Leather and Oliver Booth, for delivering engaging welcome presentations and for their continued commitment to supporting our students.

We look forward to each placement student joining us over the summer and contributing to their learning, development, and future career paths.

Congratulations to Personal Assistant, Susan Nock who is celebrating 15 years’ employment with MDA!

Susan joined Michael Dyson Associates Ltd in 2011 as a Business Development Co‑ordinator before moving into the role of Senior Administrator for our two operational units, Contract Administration and Design, in 2015. She has since progressed to become Personal Assistant to two of our Directors.

Susan recently said of her time with MDA “Over the past 15 years I’ve learnt so much which I’ve been proud to share by supporting other administrators in the company. Thank you, MDA, for putting your trust in me, it means a lot.”

It was MDA's pleasure to welcome back Luke Ambler to MDA to talk to our male staff about mental health and wellbeing, stresses (in both life and work!) and what it means to be a 'modern man'. His talks are inspiring and refreshingly honest.

Luke was the founder of and now runs Ambler Training - helping all organisations big or small to improve their staff's wellbeing and mental health.

In the last year Luke has met the King, done a Strava lap around the Buckingham Palace garden and been in the houses of parliament, so it's a privilege to have him take the time to speak to our staff.

We are thrilled to announce that Joe Bloodworth 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗖𝗜𝗢𝗕 is now a Technical Member of the 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 (CIOB) 🏛️

Since joining the Asset Management team in 2022, Joe has 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 across a wide range of 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 disciplines and been promoted to Project Leader.

Joe now manages his own portfolio of projects, focusing on visual and structural surveys of Higher Risk Buildings, Medium-rise blocks, and Non-Traditional housing.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Joe shared, " I'm proud to share that I've successfully achieved my TechCIOB through my work with MDA, which feels like a significant milestone in my career. I'm excited to continue progressing through the next stages with the Chartered Institute of Building as I develop further in the industry.”
