We’re thrilled to 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 Chad Strydom on his 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to Associate!

Chad joined MDA in 2007 as an IT Technician, supporting our IT Manager when MDA had less than 20 employees. As MDA grew and our IT Manager moved elsewhere within the business, Chad stepped up to become our Senior IT Technician.

As our business continued to grow, and the number of Stock Condition Surveys we delivered increased significantly, Chad took the lead in supporting our Project Managers with the setup, maintenance and reporting of a variety of Asset Management Systems.

Through Chad’s 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, he progressed to IT Manager, and now, 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 after joining MDA, we are delighted to announce his promotion to 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲.

Chad is a vital part of MDA’s structure. As well as leading our asset management system support, he is responsible for the day-to-day running of our IT infrastructure and now leads a team of three IT Technicians.

A fantastic example of how 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 can benefit both the individual and the business.

We asked Chad to share his thoughts on reaching this exciting milestone in his career: “I'm proud to have been promoted to Associate and truly appreciate the recognition and opportunity this represents. It's been a rewarding journey, and I'm grateful for the trust and support I've received from colleagues across the business. Congratulations to our Associate, Lydia Stronge who is celebrating 𝟭𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 at MDA!

Lydia joined MDA in 2014 on a 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 as part of her Building Surveying degree and returned full-time to MDA in 2016 after graduating University with first-class honours. Over the past 10 years, she has 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 and achieved professional membership of both the 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗿𝘀 (𝗠𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗦) and the 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗠𝗖𝗔𝗕𝗘, 𝗖.𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗘).

Lydia specialises in projects where 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 are required, such as structural assessment of high-risk buildings and investigation into non-traditional housing. She has played a key role in expanding MDA’s capability in this area, helping clients meet increasingly complex regulatory and asset management requirements.

In addition to delivering projects, Lydia actively supports the 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀 and as a member of our RICS group, she regularly 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 working towards their APC. She also supports those at the start of their careers, including degree apprentices and college students. Furthermore, she provides day-to-day guidance to colleagues not on formal learning pathways, sharing her knowledge, experience, and leading by example.

Commenting on her 10 year milestone Lydia said “Over the last 10 years I have seen the Asset Management Team grow and evolve. I enjoy watching our younger members of staff, learn grow and achieve their career goals and I continue to enjoy problem solving, leading on complex technical projects and building relationships with clients. I would like to thank Alistair Dyson, Gary Jackson and Andrew Robinson for their invaluable guidance and mentorship over the years.”

We’re proud to share some fantastic feedback from a recently completed project 🙌

Between 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, Michael Dyson Associates undertook a 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆, including assessments for 𝗛𝗛𝗦𝗥𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱.

Our client highlighted our impressive access rate of 𝟴𝟯%, how we maintained regular catchups so the client could track our progress and how our approach was “𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰”.

Special mention was made of Jack Robinson, Chad Strydom’s and the team of surveyors which is always great to see.

𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀! Opening-up works were completed at Bloomsbury House, an 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁-𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘆 residential block of flats, comprising of 𝟭𝟯𝟬 𝗱𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀, in Northampton.

Michael Dyson Associates Ltd has been appointed by Higgins Partnerships to provide Lead Designer, Architectural, CDM Principal Designer, and Building Regulations Principal Designer services on an 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 comprising of a mixture of 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to the facade and internal 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀.

Reported as originally constructed in the 1930’s, Bloomsbury House was later converted to a residential block of flats in 2007 where it underwent significant refurbishment and extension. The conversion retained original stone and masonry 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗜𝗜 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 facades, creating a relatively complex arrangement of a mix of masonry and timber floors with steel frame incorporating stud walls between composite floors.

We are thrilled to be part of this project, collaborating with Higgins Partnerships and Airey Miller (amongst others) to successfully navigate the challenges ahead.

Finley began his career with Michael Dyson Associates Ltd through a 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. He now works in our Contract Administration team contributing to a wide range of housing development and refurbishment projects fulfilling key roles such as Employer’s Agent, Clerk of Works, and CDM duties.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Finley shared, " Achieving my Clerk of Work Accreditation is something I'm very proud of.
