Here’s Chloe, one of our Contracts Engineers, on a recent site visit with one of our clients, a major high-street name.

Chloe was there to meet with the installation team, check progress on the large filter build and provide support throughout the installation.

Congratulations to Fliss Rhodes, our Assistant Contracts Engineer, on achieving her P600 Accreditation in Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Systems, awarded by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS).

The P600 qualification covers the core principles of LEV systems, including system components, measurement techniques and testing procedures.

This achievement marks another significant milestone during Fliss's two years with the company and reflects her continued development towards becoming a Contracts Engineer.

Today (Tuesday 23rd June) is International Women in Engineering Day ( ), celebrating this year's theme of Engineering Intelligence. The day highlights the creativity, insight and problem-solving skills that women bring to engineering while continuing to challenge the stereotype that it is a male-dominated profession.

At Ideal Extraction, we are proud to work alongside talented women who make a significant contribution to our business and the engineering industry.

Jeanette Ward, Contracts Engineer, brings an impressive 15 years of experience in the air movement industry. Chloe Carson, Contracts Engineer, has been involved in engineering throughout her life and holds a degree in Surveying & Mapping Science. Fliss Rhodes, Assistant Contracts Engineer, has recently achieved her P600 Accreditation in Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems, awarded by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), marking another milestone during her two years with the company.

Alongside our Director, Helen Rhodes, and PA Caz Stewart they bring expertise and passion to the business and we hope their achievements inspire more young women to pursue careers in STEM and help shape the future of our industry.

Designed for fine woodworking tasks where operators use hand tools such as sanders and drills, the sanding bench is an excellent way to improve dust control at the point of work.

The bench is connected to an extraction system that draws air downward through the work surface. This downward airflow captures wood dust as it is generated and pulls it into the extraction system before it can spread into the operator’s breathing zone.

The benches can be supplied with a rear hood as shown in the image and the continuous extraction also removes residual dust left on the bench surface.

Sanding benches are often used alongside on-tool extraction to give the ultimate protection. By removing airborne particles at source, the sanding bench helps reduce exposure to fine dust during detailed hand-finishing and preparation work.
