Another job on the list ticked off ✅

980 meters of the old A9 which is now popular walking route at Loch Moy had become heavily overgrown.

A tidy up was required and I was happy to give it a going over 👷🏽‍♂️

Full length scraped with the bucket and spoil laid to the sides and shaped off. Then a pass with the broom on the digger to give it a final wee tickle 🧚

Hopefully doing this work makes the path accessible to all! 🚶‍♀️ 🦽 🐴 🐕

I won’t make comment about the old A9s tar being better than the “new” 🙈😵‍💫

Spring time driveway freshen up 🌱🌻

Wee in and out job to give this driveway a refresh.

3” of material scraped off the whole area to lower the level down, teram laid and 20mm crushed gravel spread back to original height. 🪨

New manhole lid installed where there had been a slab before. 🕳️

Aqua channel installed at the entrance to guide water off to the edge preventing it running down the driveway 💦

A wee in and out job to repair some potholes in Harbro yard in Inverness. 🚛

Previously repaired so removed the concrete that had broken up and sank.

Cleaned out the holes with the broom, dried, tack coat applied, new tar laid in and bitumen strips burnt on.

Area swept tidy with the digger broom… why.. because we can 😎

Few good days with the flail on 😎👌

Customer got in touch wanting to knock back the growth of gorse and whin bushes to keep the view of the woods from the house 🏠 🌲

Work split into 2 phases. First to clear what was visible from the house and second to clear the rest of it out at a later date. 📅

All the saplings kept standing and undamaged and a huge area of land reclaimed 👷🏽‍♂️

Great progress can be made with a small digger and flail, using a small digger enables you to move between trees to get the full area cleared. Get in touch if you’d like flail work done. 🦫

Tree time 🌲

Continuing with the New Century House works, we had a few trees to remove. For various reasons these trees had to come down, some were a saftey concern and others were in the safe working zone to demolish the building. 👷🏽‍♂️

IV Tree Services were taken in to fell the trees and delimb, a proper professional bunch of boys who didn’t hang around. Highly recommend ⭐

3t machine was used to assist in some of the felling.

A massive help in this job was the Engcon rotator with the timber grab. The guys de-limbed all the fallen trees and the digger tidied all the timber into separate piles of wood chip or firewood. 🪵

Wood chipper brought in and all material fed through with the digger. A mixture of the machine, grab and tilt rotator cutting out the use of a labourer 👌

I’ll post some videos separately to showcase how easy our machine makes the work 🎥

New Century House 👷🏽‍♂️

This one was a long time in the planning. With lots of boxes that needed ticking before we could hit the ground. ✅

First thing to get started with was removing all the kerbing from around the carpark. Kerbs were hooked out using the ripper tooth attachment. Over 400 kerbs removed in a couple days. 🦷

Kerbs all gathered up using the grab and stock piled for crushing. Crushed material will be used down the line. Nothing goes to waste now, all is reusable ♻️

Lighting pole’s disconnected, and pulled out of the ground using the grab on the digger, minimising manual labour and also risk. 💡

Both these tasks required different attachments, which without would make it very labour intensive. Using job specific attachments isn’t something all contractors do but it enabled HSL to complete this phase of works with no manual labour involved. This means zero risk or injury’s maximising efficiency. 🩹 🏥
