Last week, Harvey, Matt and Sally from our Shrewsbury office attended the Constructing Excellence Shropshire Club Summer Social aboard the Sabrina Boat in Shrewsbury.

Following welcome drinks at The Armoury, guests enjoyed a BBQ cruise along the River Servern, providing a great opportunity to network with professionals from across the construction and property sectors.

A big thank you to the Constructing Excellence Shropshire Club team for organising such an enjoyable event. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and look forward to attending future events.

Last Friday, Seb Warren from our Chorley office took part in the Bradley Group Charity Football Match, held at the iconic Bolton Wanderers Toughsheet Community Stadium.

It was a fantastic day enjoyed by everyone in attendance, bringing together colleagues and connections for some friendly competition in support of a truly worthwhile cause.

The event provided a great opportunity to strengthen relationships, enjoy the team spirit of the day, and, most importantly, raise support and awareness for Holly's Hearts and Derian House Charities.

Last week, Scott Milligan and Billy Hodgson had the pleasure of joining an ICE North West site visit to Kendal, where VolkerStevin and the Environment Agency showcased the Kendal Town Flood Risk Management Scheme - one of the North of England's largest flood Defence projects.

Following the devastating floods caused by Storm Desmond in 2015, the scheme is transforming how over 2,000 properties are protected, while carefully balancing modern flood Defences with Kendal's historic character.

A great opportunity to see this flood risk management system in practice - from hydraulic modelling to delivering complex works in constrained urban environments.

Thanks to VolkerStevin, the Environment Agency and the ICE North West for organising the visit.

Last weekend, a few members of our Lancaster office were invited to attend the Garstang Football Club festival of football. After the success of last season's inaugural event, the club decided to expand the event to two days to bring more action to the pitch for all to see.

The event aimed to showcase the footballing talent in Garstang and the wider area. The weekend involved all three sections of the club, adult, junior and walking football.

A fantastic weekend all round, despite the weather, there was still a strong community spirit throughout both days. It was great to see so many people supporting the event, and our team thoroughly enjoyed attending and being part of the celebrations.
