Good morning, PoweRad, Bel speaking!

A normal house, asking us to leave all the windows open? Bel wasn't fooled for a second.

Would you have spotted him?

The ghost of the back bedroom. Spooky, until Volt spotted it was Chill in a bedsheet.

Otto shut him down: window shut, heating back on in that room.

Which room haunts you in winter?

30/10/2026

Do infrared panels glow? Amp says like a toaster. Amp is wrong.

No glow at all. You just feel warm: you, the walls and the floor.

Got a heating question? Ask the crew in the comments and they might answer it next.

Cheaper than gas? No. Big leaky house on mains gas? Keep the boiler. We'll always tell you straight.

29/10/2026

Amp wanted the whole house at thirty. Otto had other ideas.

Every room gets its own thermostat and its own schedule, so the spare room stays off while the bathroom is warm for seven.

Who's the Otto in your house? Tag them.

Heating, then a battery, then solar. One layer at a time, and you don't need both on day one.

28/10/2026

Is infrared heating cheaper than gas? No, and we'd rather say so up front.

A large, leaky house on mains gas, heated all day, is the wrong place for it. There, we tell people to insulate and keep the boiler. Where it does make sense is flats, homes off the gas, extensions, home offices and cold rooms, where the heat needed is low.

The clocks went back and Pow panicked. Dark at half four!

Then he remembered. A battery charges on the cheap overnight rate and keeps it as electricity until you want it, and the sun tops it up in the day.

Dark nights are here. Is your house ready?

27/10/2026

Everyone, introduce yourselves.

Rad the boss, Volt the installer, Amp the apprentice, Pow the battery, Sol the solar panel, Otto the smart controls and Boost the hot water.

Who's your favourite? Tell us below.

Dark evenings are here. Heat the room you're in, not the whole house, with a thermostat in every room.
