📍Over 600m3 total volume. For this air tightness test, three of our cylinders were required for this old solid wall bed&brekkie. Edging towards the 300m2 mark in floor area, what a beautiful property located in the heart of Wales.

This old bed&brekkie is now a completely renovated family home which has just undergone fully funded retrofit home improvements through the ECO4 scheme.

It’s been a busy start to 2025 and with the changes to PAS looming, I anticipate it’s going to get even busier. Please get in touch if you are an installer or housing association in Wales wanting air tightness tests with fast reports at competitive rates.

We are proud to announce that we have been asked to sponsor Ralph Miller for the Grenada Butcher7s rugby tournament this year!

This tournament is historic, with humble beginnings in Trinidad in the 1980s. The ‘Caribbean 7s’ started out as an annual tournament, primarily with local and regional competition, and was revived by a group of rugby enthusiasts and the help of the Tobago Rugby Club.

In 2016, the newly-named international ‘Rugby Barbados World 7s’ then enjoyed four years of success. The event broke exciting new ground for the sport of rugby in Barbados (and world-wide) in 2018-2019, when it was staged at the world-famous national cricketing venue – Kensington Oval.

Since then, it has continued to expand across different parts of the world.

From small stone cottages to large farm houses! It’s been a busy few weeks here at HSS leading up to the festive period! We have been visiting a wide variety of different property types across Wales, all at different stages of receiving TOTALLY FREE home energy improvements through the fully funded ECO4 grant! 🔥

Alongside qualifying & securing the fully funded ECO4 grants to homeowners in Wales, we also assist other reputable companies in carrying out air permeability tests within some of their ongoing installation projects. This is necessary to make sure all properties are ventilated adequately, so that there is a healthy balance between efficiency and breathability. Driving quality control! 🤝

Here we have just a handful of the various properties we have recently visited & pressure tested which all are now having various home energy improvements. This includes internal wall insulation, loft insulation, brand new air source heating systems, new radiators, wireless heating controls, solar panels and extra ventilation! Here at Heat Saving Specialists, we are thrilled to announce the completion of a very rewarding installation due to the homeowner suffering with a serious cardiovascular health issue. This property was being heated with an old inefficient oil system and the homeowners were due to spend a few hundred pounds on oil before the cold weather sets in. This was becoming increasingly more expensive for them.

In just a short period of time, this property has been transformed from a cold, inefficient place to live, to a place where the warm air literally hit us as soon as we opened the door when we last visited!

Some of the comments made by the homeowners during our last visit included:

“It’s amazing to be honest”
“Every room you go into is warm”
“We don’t feel the difference in temperature in our rooms anymore”

The property has benefitted from the following energy savings measures:

- A reliable ‘Ideal’ air source heating system
- 12 x 480w solar panels, a hybrid inverter and battery storage
- Loft insulation
- New large radiators throughout
- Additional ventilation to help the house breath
- Brand new wireless heating controls

The whole package was completely FREE including installation, due to the homeowners qualifying through the Government-backed ECO4 grant which we secured! This installation would have cost of in excess of £15,000 if paid for privately. Big shout out to Egni Solar Cymru Ltd. and SWS Scaffolding Ltd for their reliable and professional work carried out with the solar panels & scaffolding which the occupants praised highly.

We have new installations starting in the Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Merthyr area shortly, so please follow us to keep up to date with some of our installs which we occasionally post!
