This project is a great example of the value of strong collaboration, coordinated delivery, and streamlined communication throughout every phase of construction. From initial design development through to final handover, EQUANS benefited from a single point of contact across the entire project - ensuring clear communication and smooth approval of every stage of the works.

Working alongside Helical Pile Solutions Ltd, we delivered the following:
- WAC testing
- Vacuum excavation around existing services to identify and mark underground services prior to piling
- Supply and installation of precast units between piles
- Installation of uPVC drainage pipework
- Connections into the existing 450mm manholes
- Construction of reinforced in-situ concrete raft slab
- Supply and installation of M100 ACO drainage channels cast into the slab
- Installation of concrete paving slabs

Last week, we successfully completed a major reinforced concrete package delivered as part of a significant rail infrastructure upgrade in the North of England, having commenced works in October 2025.

Our scope of works included:
- 28 pile caps
- 3 lift pits
- 9 finger canopies
- 3 concrete slabs

All delivered within a busy high-street and highly disruptive live environment.

To meet programme demands, we mobilised four gangs, supported by 5 supervisors and 2 setting-out engineers, undertaking a full package of excavation, pile cropping, blinding, formwork, reinforcement, gas membrane installation, waterproofing, concrete pours, drainage, ducting, backfilling, and finishing works.

Completing a project of this complexity weeks ahead of programme and with zero non-conformances is an achievement we are extremely proud of.

A huge thank you to our dedicated site team for their hard work and professionalism throughout, and to our valued supply chain partners for their continued support in helping us achieve this result.
We also extend our thanks to our client for trusting us to deliver this critical infrastructure package.

Last November, we completed the construction of a capping beam (1850mm x 850mm) for as part of the Torside Reservoir project.

Being self-sufficient on site, we provided all the necessary resources, plant, equipment, and materials to deliver:

- Formwork design
- Groundwater drainage from behind the capping beam, crossing underneath to divert water to the reservoir
- Pile cropping
- Installation of couplers to extend pile rebars
- CHS tubes to enable crossing anchors
- Construction of the capping beam (1.850m x 0.85m x 65m)
- Backfilling behind the capping beam

A specific sequencing was meticulously planned to mitigate any
bank movement during construction. GEO-Instruments team closely monitored progress through an observational monitoring method.

This was a challenging project, but our workforce made it look easy. Completing such a technical job a week ahead of schedule and with zero non-conformance is an achievement we are proud of.

Due to ongoing activities on site, we were requested to pour 25 meters of guide walls Friday and demobilise by Saturday to minimise interfaces with site operations.

Today, we successfully completed the construction of a 600mm x 800mm capping beam over a sheet piled wall for in Southport.

Instead of traditional flame cutting (oxy-fuel cutting), we used a magnetic drill to create space for the crossing rebars within the sheet piles. This approach proved to be safer, cleaner, and far more efficient for this job.

🚧 Job Completion at Central Park Leisure Center 🚧

We’re proud to share photos of the project completed this week at Central Park Leisure Center. Our team kicked off the works by creating a temporary car park to divert traffic from the active site, ensuring the center remained accessible to the public throughout.

The project involved coordinated piling bay excavations—done in an agreed sequence to facilitate helical piles installation. This was followed by backfilling and compaction, paving the way for the frames installation.

Outside the piling area, we carried out trenching, ducting installation, and extensive making-good, tarmacking, and reinstatement works—all sequenced meticulously to keep ongoing coactivity smooth and efficient until our final handover.

After three months of collaborative effort, we’re delighted to showcase these photos. We’re very proud to welcome to our list of clients! We successfully completed the construction of pile caps for them in Redhill, which included the reinstatement of the footpath adjacent to the pile caps, and being completely self-sufficient on site.
