It has been brilliant to watch this North Yorkshire nature and community project continue to develop, with each visit revealing something new.
What began as a vision for a more biodiverse and productive landscape is now visibly taking shape. The site is producing fruit, the beehives are providing honey, and it is preparing to welcome rehomed chickens into their new home.
These lucky hens will be housed in an upcycled coop and given the care and space they need. They will also contribute to the project’s community purpose, with half of the eggs they produce set to be donated to local food banks.
It is equally encouraging to see wildlife making use of the developing landscape. The site’s trail cameras have captured multiple sightings of roe deer and brown hare, offering a fascinating glimpse of the animals exploring the land when people are not around.
For us at Infinity Renewables, it is rewarding to support a project that brings nature recovery, regenerative food production and benefits for local communities together. Fruit, honey and eggs are tangible signs of a productive landscape, while the visiting wildlife reminds us that food production and biodiversity can coexist when land is managed thoughtfully.
We are looking forward to seeing the project continue to grow, and to following the next chapter for its newest feathered residents.
