SCIOPOLIS MOLECULE LOGO IN THE MAKING

To recreate the 3D version of the Sciopolis molecule logo in the monumental size of W: 2750 x D: 150 x H: 2900 mm, aluminium sheets were laser-cut and laser-welded by Q-Metals Ltd. Originally designed as a two-piece project for ease of installation, it has been transformed by Q-Metals Ltd into a one-piece structure to ensure a seamless end effect. Laser welding was adopted to avoid metal distortion that can occur with traditional welding methods, and an extensive sanding process was applied to achieve a monolithic effect after powder coating.

SCIOPOLIS MOLECULE LOGO SCULPTURE

Brilliant effect of collaboration between Q-Metals Ltd and David Samuel – a contemporary London artist and founder of Art and Design Studio RareKind – this impressive molecule logo sculpture adorns the main entrance of the newly opened Sciopolis building in North Acton, London.

Made of aluminium, the sculpture depicts the logo of Sciopolis, a company that designs and operates office and lab spaces for science and technology ventures. To recreate the 3D version of the design in the monumental size of W: 2750 x D: 150 x H: 2900 mm, aluminium sheets were laser-cut and laser-welded. The finished piece was powder-coated to achieve the required end effect and was ready for the grand opening on 2 July 2026.
