This Saturday marks World Mental Health Day, an annual occasion to raise awareness of mental health and to encourage more open conversations about it. This year's theme, ‘Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change’, places the emphasis on listening to people and allowing their experiences to shape the support available to them.
Early starts, long days on site, travel between locations and periods of lone working can all take their toll, and these pressures are not always visible from the outside. Mental health deserves the same attention and care as physical health and safety, which has always been central to how we operate.
At Jackson, we are committed to maintaining a workplace where our people feel able to speak openly, and where they will be listened to when they do. We encourage everyone across our team to check in with colleagues, make time to talk, and seek support early when something does not feel right.
The wellbeing of our people is a priority throughout the year. World Mental Health Day is a timely reminder that listening is where meaningful support begins.
