Middlesex Coal Board

Middlesex Coal Board "Putting your money where the coal is." We also support rapper sword dance in London. "There isn't any coal in Middlesex" we hear you say.

The Middlesex Coal Board is London's mythic coal authority, bringing affordable energy to the M25 and beyond (allegedly). Well, we know that now, but we didn't then. Where do you think all the tube train tunnels came from? That's right, it was us, looking for coal. The Middlesex Coal Board (MCB) was established by the National Coal Board (NCB) to run the nationalised coal mining industry in Middle

sex. It was set up under the Coal Industry Nationalisation Act 1946 and took over the mines of Middlesex on 1 January 1947, often referred to as "vesting day." In 1987 the NCB was renamed the British Coal Corporation and its assets were subsequently privatised by the Tories. The MCB continue to struggle on and are proud to be associated with Thrales Rapper and Tower Ravens Rapper, and support English Folk and rapper sword dance across London and the South East.
