European Ground Source Heat Pump Association

European Ground Source Heat Pump Association EGSHPA is the ideal bridging point between the latest green energy technologies and the people who benefit from these developments.

The European Ground Source Heat Pump Association (EGSHPA) was founded and built with the aim of communicating to the industry and consumers the benefits of a new form of renewable energy. The association aims to provide technical and industry specific news across all EU member states, in order to overcome the challenges faced by the industry in the development of GSHP for cooling and heating appli

cations. The association also aims to partner and join forces with other relevant bodies that can help move the industry forward, instilling consumer confidence and delivering a compelling case for this excellent alternative energy source. Our communication channels of choice are the web, social media and other more traditional forms of communication such as magazines, newsletters and conferences. As the way we communicate changes with advances in technology and the industry itself grows, it is our goal to keep our members connected, active and informed.

GSHP systems can be used from small, residential houses to large individual buildings or complexes (offices, hotels, schools, shopping, etc.). In the residential sector, typically heat pumps produced in larger series and in standard heating capacities from 5 to 20 kW are used. For the commercial sector, all the installation (heat pumps, manifolds) tends to …

Current Situation

With the first days of winter approaching, the road users have normally not adapted yet to the changed traffic conditions. Bridges use to cool down earlier than the normal roads. Thus icy surface conditions can occur on bridges even when the normal roads don’t give any hints for problems.

Diligent winter maintenance is a crucial …

The amount of external energy input, be it electric power or heat, has to be kept as low as possible to make the geothermal heat pump ecologically and economically desirable. The measure for the efficiency of a shallow geothermal system is the Seasonal Performance Factor (SPF).

A geothermal heat pump offers the best conditions for achieving …

Coming in at 140 pages long, the WNISR (World Nuclear Industry Status Report) outlines the decline and fall of nuclear as a viable future alternative to fossil fuel energy sources.

The nuclear industry seems to be in decline in every category and in every country across the face of the planet, and many are laying the blame equally at the feet of the Fukushima disaster and the growth of the renewable energy sector.

Late last week, the UK government joined with 27 companies across the country’s automobile industry in pledging £1 billion toward an Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).

A massive investment by the United Kingdom could help it pass American, European, and Asian national auto industries for pole position on the road to a low-carbon transportation future.
