A rare eclipse. A familiar rooftop. A memorable moment.

Last week, we gathered on the rooftop of White Collar Factory to watch the eclipse together, sharing a moment of curiosity, conversation and collective wonder above the city.

The gathering was made even more meaningful as one of our final moments together at White Collar Factory before our move to Elder Yard at Norton Folgate. For almost a decade, this Derwent London building has been the backdrop to countless conversations, ideas, milestones and friendships.

Watching the sky transform together was a fitting way to celebrate the sense of community that defined our time here.

Now, that a new chapter is well underway, we’re already embracing our new home and the opportunities, connections and energy that come with it.

From one remarkable workplace to another, we’re excited for what lies ahead.

From a cultural landmark in Houston to a landmark retrofit in London and an innovative commercial development at Baker Street, each project showcases a different approach to engineering complex design and construction challenges.

For almost a decade, White Collar Factory has been our home, shaping our work, our conversations and our growth as a practice.

We are preparing for a new chapter.

AKT II will move to Elder Yard at Norton Folgate, another project and a place where heritage, craftsmanship and placemaking come together in one of London’s most historic neighbourhoods. Our new home combines state-of-the-art workspace with the character of a restored warehouse, creating a workplace that celebrates both innovation and heritage.

Moving between two award-winning AKT II projects feels particularly fitting. White Collar Factory helped redefine the modern workplace, while Norton Folgate demonstrates how heritage and innovation can work together to create a richer and more enduring city.

Our move also reflects the continuing evolution of London’s creative and design economy. As London’s energy and ideas continue to expand eastwards, we’re excited to strengthen our connection to the people, communities and conversations shaping the future of the city.

We can’t wait to welcome colleagues, clients and collaborators to our new home.

Between 16 and 26 July, we shared projects, material research and exchanged ideas with visitors, collaborators and industry peers, highlighting how engineering can help unlock new possibilities for the places we design and build.

Thank you to London Creates, our collaborators and everyone who joined us over the course of the exhibition. Your curiosity, insights and enthusiasm made it an inspiring week.
