Creating Confidence, Skills & Community Through Social Value
Last week, through our work with Clarion Housing Group, the KBH Haus team delivered another week of meaningful social value in action supporting confidence, practical life skills and community creativity.
1. Public Speaking & Confidence Workshop β Penge Primary School
Through Haus Academy we had the pleasure of delivering a fun, high-energy public speaking workshop with pupils in Penge, helping children build confidence, communication skills and new friendships through interactive games and activities.
The feedback from pupils said it all:
βI liked that we got to move around and learn more about other people. I really liked the games. It helped my confidence!β
βIt was very fun, it helped me speak properly so that people could understand correctly. I loved the games! I liked mixing with a different year group. I built new friendships. I really want to do it again!β
Seeing children grow in confidence in just one session is exactly why these workshops matter.
2. Plumbing & DIY Basics: Skills for Home and Work β Hackney
Hosted by out Clarion contract manager, a hands-on Haus Academy workshop, giving residents practical, everyday home maintenance skills while introducing plumbing as a potential career pathway.
The session covered:
-Unblocking toilets, baths & sinks
-Isolating hot and cold water
-Understanding water systems & pressure
-Bleeding radiators
-Preventing common household issues
Attendees also received a free take-home toolkit to help build confidence in managing small repairs independently at home.
3. Supporting Community Creativity in Bow
Finally, our team supported a local school art initiative by helping install 18 A0 pupil-designed mural panels externally in Bow, showcasing childrenβs creativity and bringing colour, identity and pride into the local community.
This is what social value should look like, practical support, confidence building and lasting community impact.
