Osprey's Forecasting Continues to Anticipate US-Iran Escalation Patterns 🎯

On 2 July, Osprey reiterated to clients in our latest forecast that the clearest indicator of renewed escalation between the United States and Iran would be Iranian attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Since the initial US-Iran ceasefire on 8 April, multiple escalation cycles have unfolded, largely following this pattern: Iranian attacks on commercial shipping have been followed by US military strikes against Iranian targets along the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran subsequently launching missiles and drones at states across the Gulf region.
