The world's most comprehensive private collection of Concorde artefacts and memorabilia from the supersonic commercial flight era of 1976-2003 built over the last 20 years after Concorde retired by UK-based collector Simon Jones. Think London to New York in 2 hours or less in a quiet, eco-friendly electric aircraft. The Concorde Lounge will feature an exhibition that includes the world's largest c
ollection of historical Concorde artefacts along with personal stories, photographs and videos to help narrate one of the world's greatest scientific achievements. The story will show how the idea became reality and will look at the enormous amount of barriers Concorde had to overcome. The exhibition will also examine the lessons we learnt from Concorde and explore the challenges around MachJets realisation. If you have a great Concorde story to tell the world, please share it with our community. Perhaps you were a Concorde designer, engineer, pilot, passenger or a fan of the supersonic aircraft. These individual stories, untold secrets and interesting facts will collectively form the basis of The Concorde Story Exhibition. Help us capture and preserve a special part of world aviation and transport history before the memories are lost so we can forever inspire the next generation of engineers, designers, innovators and leaders. Concorde was a unique partnership between two countries and was only made possible by the efforts of thousands of people who overcame numerous barriers. Concorde was a true design icon of the 20th Century and was created in an era long before desktop pcs, mobiles and the internet. It literally changed aviation overnight and achieved legendary global status by doubling the speed we crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Journey times were cut in half to little over 3.5 hours from London to New York, a distance of almost 3,500 miles. Flying Mach 2 enabled passengers to cover 23 miles a minute, almost the distance of a marathon. It was a favourite mode of travel for royalty, celebrities, leaders, business owners and those who wanted to achieve a lifetime dream to go supersonic. Our partners will be proud to show their past association and involvement with the Concorde programme where many of them provided crucial technology and services to enable supersonic flight. Equally, partners will show our audiences the modern solutions they can provide to enhance global aviation, transport, mobility and connectivity. We will work together in open collaboration with other Concorde groups that are orientated towards a return to flight (most likely for heritage purposes) and those who are carefully preserving the remaining global fleet of 18 aircraft. We look forward to welcoming you to our exhibition and hope it will have a positive impact on the many lives in touches. Together we can achieve our supersonic dreams on the exciting journey ahead.
