We would like to inform you that the RSM is hosting Movember this month. Honouring the tradition that was started last year, we are raising money and spreading awareness for men's health. With this occasion, I would love to relay a message to the RSMA:
"Movember is the point in the year when we remind ourselves of the need to raise awareness about men’s health. Movember is the campaign that everyone can get involved with in small ways to make huge differences our own and others’ loved ones’ lives. Our former Davy Bearer, Eddy Compton, began RSM’s involvement in the Movember tradition last year and l believe it is something that we must replicate through the future generations of Miners.
Be one of the ‘brave and selfless people around the world’ who grow a moustache or someone who supports them. By supporting the campaign we raise awareness and funds for men’s health – specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and su***de prevention. Every pound and every ‘mo’ can help save a Bro, a Dad, a fellow Miner or member of our community. I would love if everyone would participate in our RSM Movember campaign!
Every week, we will share a few photos on our Movember page to show our participants’ growth progress, so feel free to support them by donating anything you can spare.
Co-Campaigner and Materials student, Omar Al-Zadjali would like to share this message: “It’s important to raise awareness issues surrounding men’s health. Earlier this week James Michael Taylor (famous Friends sitcom actor) died of prostate cancer. Everybody can take part, brave the shave, take part in the 60km walk challenge for the 60 men we lose to su***de each hour and join in Movember. Complement our campaigners’ staches, it'll make their month”
