Recently we wrote a piece for the Architecture Yearbook 2026 on how we think about place at Mallett.
The best architecture has a clear sense of place and getting there means starting with the variables that make a place what it is: aspect, land use, materiality, the vernacular, the craft. We draw them in early and let them shape everything that follows.
Featured projects: Untouched Forest, Black and Stone, and Soft Grass — all rooted in rural Perthshire, and all still teaching us things we’re now carrying into urban work, including our Grade I Elizabethan refurbishment in west London.
Huge thanks to and editor Rebekah Killigrew. Link to the full read in bio.
