On jobs like this one, surrounded by homes, we work within the regulations and take steps to keep noise and disruption for neighbours to a minimum.

Up at roof level, our scaffolder is in full kit: helmet, hi-vis, gloves and a harness clipped on to the scaffold.

Ever wondered what a scaffolder puts on before going up?

In this shot you can see all of it: hard hats, hi-vis vests, gloves and full-body harnesses.

Scaffolders are often the first people working at height on a site, sometimes before the structure is even finished. So the right kit always comes before the job.

It’s a small detail in a photo, but it says a lot about how the work should be done.
