Why and ?

The 303 Squadron became legendary because they claimed the highest number of enemy aircraft shot down (126 kills) of any Allied squadron during the Battle of Britain, despite joining the fight two months after it began.

For MTP Cooling, which operates across Northolt, Slough, and West London, this imagery is particularly local. Many of the 303 pilots were based at RAF Northolt, just down the road from where MTP Cooling operates today.

The Story Behind the Imagery of vans

No. 303 Squadron was the most famous and successful Polish fighter squadron of the Royal Air Force during World War II.

The Planes: The vans mostly feature the Hawker Hurricane, the rugged fighter plane the squadron flew during the Battle of Britain in 1940.

The Badge: The squadron’s iconic emblem: a red and white shield with a traditional Polish hat (rogatywka) and two crossed scythes, representing the 1794 Kościuszko Uprising.

The Connection: MTP Cooling is a Polish-owned company operating in the UK. By placing these images on our vans, we are honoring the Polish pilots who fought alongside the British to defend London and the UK during the war.
