Tioman are excited to be lauching a new project in the North of Nigeria to bring clean affordable decentralised energy rural communities who are not connected to the grid today in Nigeria and will not be for the unforseeable future. We will be offering these communities solar energy in the form of Solar Home Systems (SHS’s), Mini-grids (micro or mini),solar appliances. In order to assist our customers with payment, our products and services will be offered via pay-as-you-go (PAYG), allowing customers to pay as then are able to afford.
We are looking for accessible communities to take part in our sensidisation programme in Nigeria where we will come and visit the communities and meet with the village head and his traditional leaders and discuss with them the energy that they require for their communities.
Our program will be not just energy for the community, it will be new much needed jobs for youths and women. It will also allow these communities to now be connected to a much larger community which will allow for our new customers put money back into their pockets. This is not only created by employment however; through creating productive users which will allow customers to ‘move up the energy ladder’. We will be with our customers throughout their journey providing training and assisting them with bringining not just the energy but the appliances that are required and will plug into the energy.
I am very passionate about allowing people who today do not have any access to electicity be apart of this journey and together we can #contribute2change and make the necessary impact that is required. Just in Nigeria a poplulation of nearly 200million, 96million people have no access to energy, that is nearly 50% of the population and most of these customers rely on Candles, rechargable batteries or Kerosene to allow them to have any form of light.
