Situated in the Derbyshire Peak District is a manufacturing facility designed and built in the 1990's specifically to make cutlery. Designed and built for David Mellor's timeless and quality range of product's, which are exported world wide, this building is the centre piece of a small beautiful complex of building's mixing a shop packed with quality design led item's, wrapped by a history lesson on the design genius who was David Mellor and topped by a cafe serving the best fresh local produce. Bramah are pleased to have had our NS27M mortice deadlocks on all their security doors from the beginning of this site and to have our locks on their two retail shops to! With the successful design and installation of another Paxton 10 System, we are pleased to share that we are now a Paxton Silver Partner, with hopeful signs for a number of other systems, that utilise the tremendous Paxton Range.

Access Control is not just plug and play .....design issues to consider, include.... mechanical locking with electric releases or magnets..........access control on both sides or just the so called external with press to exit internally......the number of users, as there comes a point when locks and keys are best..... is a Fire Alarm link required....is a device required in the lift..... is the space adequate for all our door controllers .....

Its our business to supply, fit and maintain security solutions ,in this case our burglar alarms and fire systems were involved... we have a long time client , who is also a high end builder and customer...who had cabled their own systems, which we had second fixed and diligently maintained...... home alone was the teenage son, who was bunkered down on his head phones on the second floor of the house... downstairs in a lIving room nicely charging, was a electric bike linked to a rolled up adaptor..... either the battery or the rolled up adaptor failed and created a fire, which went unnoticed by the said teenager! The smoke eventually leaked through a fire door into the hallway, setting the life Fire system off and calling the monitoring station.... between all the noise and activations the Fire Brigade arrived, saved the house and the teenager..... the circumstances will be recognised by many of us, so its a VERY GOOD DAY when the work your Teams do make a difference, as in this case.. Now the rebuild and reinstatement begins!

Tucked away on Fleet Street is a property prone to vandalism for political reasons. Here we have two entrance doors secured by patented and key registerable rim cylinders, mounted with Bramah London Door Pulls and two deadlocks with Bramah Kickstop Lockguards of two sizes. London's West End has a lot of multi tenanted buildings run full time as Airbnb / Short Term lets . The fraudulent sub letting of these premises for the prize of a large deposit or continuation of occupation for free after the rental period completes is a problem. In this instance despite having a Patent Protected cylinder on the communal front door, it is believed that a copy key was obtained. So with the purposes of creating a situation where the party in question had to illegally break and entry, a Bramah C17 with its key registerable key, with London Door Pull was fitted to an outward opening Cisa Rim Nightlatch. The unwelcome tenant is now moved on, after Police intervention.!

Happy New Year to All ..... In Pickwick Papers, Chapter L111, Charles Dickens wrote ' Precious warm walking, isn't it? Said Lawton drawing a Bramah key from his pocket with a small plug therein to keep the dust out'....... and with this in mind we a picture of two legacy and genuine Bramah Desk Locks that were despatched to us from Barrington, Illinois, USA with keys stuck inside. On inspection in London, after the customs laibility was paid and they were released to us, it was case of dirt in the key and repairing the damage done!. The goods are now heading back, but we cannot emphasise enough that whether your Bramah key is a 2025 model or 1784 one, dirt in the key, ie between the slots is the single largest reason for a call for our support. Understanding this will ensure you have years of reliable lock use. Ie Clean between the key cuts with a business or credit card and with a paper clip, ensure the middle of the key is clear of dust, doughnut sugar etc. Modern keys have free issue dust caps available to be used. However when you are stuck we are hear to help.

Working with the Long Leaseholder and the appointed Construction, Fit Out Team, Bramah firstly secured the site prior to construction, then worked a design up within evolving perimeters to cover locking of Ground, Lower Ground and Roof of this high end, six floor terraced site, adjacent to Grosvenor Square. The final approved specification included installation of Texecom 88 Alarm system with Smartcom Connect, Texcom Cloud and Texecom Monitor, alongside an IP based Paxton 10 mixed system, incorporating Access Control, Door Entry and CCTV all of which is viewable from a web browser with access possible via mobile phones. Working in the area of Central London for which the Grosvenor Estate is the Freeholder, involves working to the highest standard, never mind the standard of the long leaseholder and their designers!. We continue to support on site all systems remotely from our own West End site.
