Bookmatch bathroom delight.

20 sets of A and B that are a mirrored image.
Designed by .

First day on site Dani got her plans out and I kindly asked if we could scrap those and run the bookmatch around the room if we had enough slabs. Which we did and there were no spares at all. So pressure was on.

To get 3 pairs centred over the bath, in the shower and in the centre of the basins. I had some setting out issues. It doesn’t work if I put full slabs in everywhere. I had to cut some A & Bs down. I had to go around corners and figure out where to cut them down for it work. Mentally fatigued after this one.

One of my most challenging jobs. But very rewarding.

Going on from my last post.. how did I get a 14mm pencil boarder to work with a 6mm tile.. well prep first.. full wet room .. bomb proof. I can’t say anymore than that. O actually you won’t see me with nice straight lines in my prep. That kerdi Coll is brutal stuff.

So how did I get the boarder to work.. 6mm backers boards behind each piece of tile. 22 boards we used. It’s a big room. 6mm board 2mm adhesive is 8mm .. 6mm tile and 3mm addy is 17mm in total.. well the walls won’t be perfect enough so that allows for a bit of play. I don’t want it to be tight. In the last picture you can see the bullnose worked perfectly. 150 pencil boarders were sworn at from start to finish.

Over the next week or so I’ll go through how .interiors pushed my thinking juices into over drive. From a tiled ceiling to getting a 6mm tile to look great with a 14mm pencil boarder. I was ready for a day off after this one.

I was given 9 x 3000 x 1500 slabs with very little spare. Over 150 pencil boarders. This one tested me, so you’re coming on a journey with me. 🥳🥳
Lastly thank you to for helping me on this. Great laugh along the way.
