Not all stone works the same: granite is solid and long-lasting, but slow to cut and heavy to work with, while Portland is easier to handle but needs careful setting to avoid damage.

Limestone has got a lovely warmth to it, but it’s softer and can take in moisture if it’s not treated right.

Today, we're reviewing our restoration project at St Helen's Place, London.

We carried out extensive external stonework and sub-base works, including removing existing asphalt concrete in preparation for patterned cobble laying.

The works formed part of the restoration of this conservation area, delivered with care and precision.

The project included natural stone cladding, reclaimed cobbles, and York stone paving, which were chosen to ensure durability and historical sensitivity.

One of our specialities is providing high-quality hard landscaping for commercial and residential projects of all sizes. A highlight is our work at Lincoln’s Inn. We delivered a full scope of external stonework with exceptional attention to detail.

The project included Magnesian limestone surrounds, salvaged Portland ashlar for parapet walls, solid granite treads and landings, and more than 1,200 square metres of new and reclaimed Yorkstone paving.
