It was great to welcome our Portugal team to the 55 West Ealing project for a site visit, alongside our Operations Director and Project Manager.

As much of the Portugal team is office-based, the visit was a valuable opportunity to see one of our live projects first-hand, gain a better understanding of the work taking place on site and see how plans and coordination come together in practice.

A productive site visit and a great opportunity to bring our teams together and experience the project beyond the office.

Indirect heat interface unit (HIU) should be maintained annually in accordance with EN 806-5 standards. Both systems need to be maintained: the primary system of the HIU itself and the secondary system being the radiators, showers and cylinders. The steps include:

- Visual check for leaks
- Check for possible active errors on the user interface and force a reset
- Test the correct operation of the pump
- Clean the strainers
- Check the expansion vessel pre-charge value and restore pressure value if
needed, then restore secondary circuit pressure
- Check safety relief valve is dry and that the drain is unobstructed
- Check for internal leaks through the modulating valves
- Check correct setting of the DHW and heating temperature set points
- Check the DHW flow rate at the correct temperature is sufficient

At our Lower Essex Street Project, a cold water tank system was installed consisting of a storage tank, a booster set, and a home booster, such as those from Grundfos.

The tank provides a buffer supply, helping to stabilise flow when incoming mains pressure is variable. The booster set then increases and regulates system pressure using controlled pumps to meet demand. A home booster unit, installed downstream, compensates for pressure losses within the pipework and ensures consistent delivery at outlets.

Together, these components maintain a steady and reliable water pressure throughout the system.
