Congratulations to Maria Bolton, winner of the 2026 Longcliffe Award at this year’s Bonsall Arts Trail with this stunning ‘Green Glad, Cool Water’🎨🌿

The award celebrates artwork inspired by the environment and natural world, with this year’s winning piece impressing the judges with its creativity and interpretation.

It’s been fantastic to support another successful Bonsall Arts Trail - the third of its kind - and see so many visitors exploring the village and celebrating local talent.

Investing in the next generation starts with giving young people the opportunity to experience industry first-hand.

This week, we welcomed Joe to Longcliffe for a week of work experience, giving him the chance to spend time across different parts of the business and gain a real insight into careers within the minerals and manufacturing sector.

From operational planning through to working alongside experienced members of our team, the programme was carefully designed to provide meaningful hands-on experience and help support future career ambitions.

🏃‍♂️ Through tunnels, across trails and flying the flag for Longcliffe! 🏃‍♀️

A team representing Longcliffe Quarries LTD took on the Trails & Tunnels 10K, proudly wearing Longcliffe-branded running vests as they tackled one of Derbyshire’s most scenic routes.

As well as taking part, we were pleased to sponsor the event medals, helping to celebrate the achievements of every runner who crossed the finish line.

The event is organised by Wirksworth Running Club and forms part of a series of three races held throughout the year, with Trails & Tunnels following the earlier Incline Challenge. 👏

Well done to Carl Fletcher, his wife Teresa Fletcher, and son Chris Fletcher; and Liam Fletcher (not related!) for representing Longcliffe so brilliantly.

We’re at Cereals Event 2026 🌾
If you’re visiting the event today at Diddly Squat Farm Shop, the Longcliffe Agricultural Products team is exhibiting on Stand 306, showcasing our range of calcium carbonate solutions for the agricultural sector.

Darren Mooney, Mark Tripney and John Nichols will all be on hand throughout the 2-day show to answer questions and discuss topics including soil health and the role high-purity calcium carbonates can play in modern farming.

We’re heading to the Cereals Event next week! The Longcliffe Agricultural Products team will be exhibiting on 10th-11th June at Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Chadlington, joining farmers and industry specialists from across the UK at one of the leading events in the arable calendar.

We’re looking forward to supporting British agriculture and sharing how using our granulated lime product can increase soil pH and calcium levels to help unlock yield potential and improve fertiliser efficiency.

From soil biology and nutrient uptake to practical, lower carbon solutions, we’re here to talk about what matters in farming today.

The Carsington Hill Race once again brought together runners, volunteers and supporters from across the local area for another successful community event, with support from the Longcliffe Community Fund helping the race return for another year.

Longcliffe’s Chris Wainwright was also on hand to present prizes to a number of this year’s winners, including Jerry Evans of Sinfin Running Club, winner of the Male Vet 70 category.

Robbie Truman, Jack Kay and James Watts also celebrated success as joint winners of the male team prize alongside Belper Harriers, while Emily Sanders and Claire Barber were part of the winning female team. Claire additionally won the FVet40 category, with Emily taking the FVet60 title.

Another strong turnout at the Carsington Hill Race! 🎽 This is the second year the Longcliffe Community Fund has supported the event, contributing towards race timing, prizes and race numbers as participation continues to grow.

It’s always encouraging to see events like this bringing people together, with proceeds helping to improve village facilities and support the wider Carsington community.

A true community celebration of art is returning to the Peak District this summer!

We are supporting the bi-annual Bonsall Arts Trail once again. The event takes place on 20th and 21st June, where 81 artists will exhibit across the village, from community spaces to artists’ own homes.

As part of the trail, the Longcliffe Prize will again recognise an exhibiting artist whose work reflects ‘sustainability’. Open to both 2D and 3D pieces, entries will be shortlisted to eight works and displayed in the village hall alongside entries from a children’s competition that has already created a real buzz at Bonsall School.

With live music, local food and a more accessible village-centre route this year, the event continues to grow as a highlight for the local community and visitors alike.

At the heart of a Gold Medal and Best in Show winning garden 🌿🏅

Longcliffe stone has played a key role in Sarah Eberle’s stunning Campaign to Protect Rural England garden, ‘On the Edge’, at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, helping to create a landscape described as “earthy, subtle, full of surprises and utterly beautiful.”

Stonework crafted by the talented team at Noble Stonework and brought to life by The Outdoor Room the garden has captured huge attention at the world’s most prestigious horticultural event 🌱

This is the second Chelsea Best in Show winning garden to feature Longcliffe stone, following Harris Bugg’s award-winning garden in 2023. Its natural textures, varied shapes and timeless character made it the perfect fit for a garden inspired by the beauty of the British countryside.

A brilliant achievement by everyone involved 👏
