Buildings are never just buildings.

They create homes.
Jobs.
Opportunity.

They create places where communities grow and thrive.

Regeneration has been at the heart of Barnfield for decades — and remains central to our future.

Barnfield has never been about one or two people.

It has always been about teams pulling together, solving problems, supporting each other and getting the job done.

From site teams and apprentices to office staff and long-term partners — every person has helped shape the story.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far.

Before company cars…

there was the JCB 3C.

Tim’s main transport to and from work in the early days of Barnfield!

Not exactly luxury… but it got the job done.

Different times.

Some people joined Barnfield as apprentices…

and went on to lead major projects across the country.

The loyalty, friendships and camaraderie built over the last 50 years are what make Barnfield truly special.

This anniversary is about celebrating the people behind the projects.

Ever wondered where the name Barnfield came from?

“Barn” because Tim lived in Barnoldswick.
“Field” because Chris lived in Brierfield.

Simple as that.

50 years later, the name still represents hard work, partnership and community.

What a fantastic evening at the Barnfield v Contractors Charity Football Match at Turf Moor last night! ⚽☀️

This year saw a new tournament-style format with three teams battling it out — The Titans, The Mavericks and The Warriors — and every single player gave it their all in the glorious weather.

It couldn’t have been closer, with the tournament eventually being decided on goal difference, as The Mavericks clinched the victory! 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, organised and contributed to another fabulous event in aid of Pendleside Hospice. Your support means so much and helps make a real difference.

A special thank you also goes to Georgia Strutz, who took the reins from Gemma Windle at the last minute to run the event and did a fantastic job. 👏

There’s still time to donate if you’d like to support this amazing cause:

In the mid-1970s there was no grand business plan.

Just a young civil engineer who had lost his job during a recession, a mortgage to pay, and a determination not to sit still.

Barnfield began with three people:

• Tim Webber
• Chris Holgate
• Sheila Webber doing the accounts in the evenings

From kitchen extensions and muddy building sites to thousands of projects across the country — the values that built Barnfield remain the same today.

Work hard.
Do things properly.
Treat people well.

Fifty years ago, Barnfield started with just three people, a recession, and a determination to make things work.

What followed was five decades of hard work, partnerships, regeneration and people who believed in doing things the right way.

On 16th May, we celebrated everyone who has been part of that journey.
And as we look ahead, one thing is certain…

The story isn’t finished yet.

On Saturday, we celebrated a major milestone in Barnfield’s history — our 50th Anniversary, at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa Resort in Skipton.

It was an evening to reflect on five decades of growth, partnerships, projects and, most importantly, people. From a business that began with just three people in the mid-1970s to the company we are today, it was a proud moment to look back on the journey and ahead to the future.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Barnfield story over the last 50 years.
