May has flown by and what a month it’s been.

With the warmer weather finally arriving, it’s been great to see so many projects moving forward.

We've been busy supporting customers across a range of jobs, from solar panel installations and home extensions to residential and commercial scaffolding projects.

Flat roofs often look like the “safe” part of a project.

In reality, they create some of the biggest access and safety challenges on site.

This setup for AQUAHEAT Ashford LTD is a great example of why scaffold planning matters.

In one area alone, the team had to account for:

✅ Flat roof access
✅ Pitched roof working areas
✅ Fragile rooflight/skylight zones

A lot of people assume flat roofs are low-risk because the surface is level.

But flat roofs can introduce:

* Hidden trip hazards
* Fragile surfaces
* Limited edge awareness
* Drainage obstacles
* Changing roof levels
* Unsafe shortcuts between work areas

Add solar installation and multiple trades into the mix and proper access planning becomes critical.

Some jobs just make life easier… 😄

Give us a nice solid wall with no windows, no awkward conservatories, no mystery extensions added in 1987, and we’re basically on holiday! 🏗️

No ducking gutters, no squeezing around satellite dishes, no explaining why the scaffold has to “go exactly there” just straight-up scaffolding bliss.

Sadly, buildings rarely cooperate… but that’s half the fun. Whatever the challenge, the team always finds a way to get it done safely and properly 👌
