The Boiler Upgrade Scheme has changed. 🏡

Eligible off-gas-grid properties can now receive up to £9,000 towards the cost and installation of an air-to-water or ground source heat pump. 💷

The higher grant is available until 31 March 2027 and applies to qualifying properties replacing certain existing heating systems, including oil or LPG.

The standard £7,500 grant remains available for other eligible air-to-water and ground source heat pump installations.

Eligibility depends on the property and the proposed system, so it is worth checking the details before making assumptions. ✅

The £9,000 uplift began on 21 July 2026 and applies to eligible off-gas-grid properties.

Your panels may produce more electricity during the day, while your household uses more in the morning or evening.

First comes the property.🏠
How much heat does it need? 🤔How is that heat currently delivered? What space is available? What changes may be required elsewhere in the system?

Those answers affect the design and sizing of the heat pump.

A proper survey should establish that before equipment is recommended, rather than trying to make the property fit a product chosen too early. 🤩
