A used v**e sits in your shop bin for three weeks.

What’s inside it? A lithium-ion battery that may still hold charge.

Most shops have a bin. Fewer have thought about the weeks between “customer drops it off” and “collection arrives”.

A few things we’d check on any site:

🔸 Is the bin visible to staff, not hidden in a stockroom?
🔸 Is it away from heaters and stacked cardboard?
🔸 Does someone own checking it each shift?
🔸 Does your collection schedule match how fast it fills?

Get those right and the bin does something else too. Customers see it, use it, and notice you’ve thought about what happens after the sale.

☀️🔋 **Solar battery not working? It might not need replacing.**

When a home battery stops charging, starts clicking, shuts down unexpectedly or seems to be losing capacity, it's easy to assume the battery itself has failed.

But that's not always what's happening.

A solar battery system has several potential points of failure, including the battery cells, BMS (Battery Management System), control boards, inverter and system configuration.

That means two batteries showing exactly the same symptoms can need completely different fixes.

Common problems we see include:

🔧 BMS and control board faults
⚡ Grid-charging and configuration issues
🔄 Relay clicking and failed self-tests
📉 Apparent capacity loss
⚙️ Inverter settings and communication faults
