A Closer Look at Brook Street

You’ve seen the Before & After… now let’s take a closer look at how Brook Street came together. 🏡

This time, we're showing more of the individual rooms, finishes and details that went into the transformation.

Five months and one day of hard work, plenty of problem-solving and lots of little decisions along the way.

It’s easy to see the finished result, but these photos show just how much changed room by room.

From tired and dated to fresh, functional and ready for its next chapter. ❤️

Here’s a closer look at Brook Street…

Brook Street…What a Difference Five Months Can Make

Sometimes, the best way to show the story of a renovation is simply to put the before and after side by side.

And Brook Street is a perfect example.

Looking at the finished images, it's hard to believe how different this property looked when we first started. What began as a tired and dated home with plenty of areas needing attention has been transformed into a fresh, clean and comfortable space ready for its next chapter.

This wasn't a quick makeover.

It took five months and one day of hard work, planning, problem-solving and plenty of time on site to bring everything together.

There were challenges along the way, as there always are with renovation projects, but seeing the finished result makes every stage worthwhile.

And the numbers tell part of the story:

💰 Around £40k invested into the renovation
🏡 Property revalued at £200k
🔑 A completely transformed home ready for its new occupants

But for usN, the biggest win wasn't the numbers.

It was handing the keys over to a lovely couple who were genuinely delighted with their new home. ❤️

That's one of the things I love most about what we do.

You start with a property that needs plenty of work, spend months dealing with everything that comes with a renovation, and eventually get to stand back and see what all that effort has created.

From tired and dated to fresh, functional and ready for a new beginning.

Brook Street has certainly come a long way.

Another project completed.
Another home given a new lease of life. 🏡

From Damp & Dated to Fresh, Bright & Comfortable 🎉

It’s amazing what the right changes can do to a space. 😊

This one-bed flat had a few challenges that needed more than just a fresh coat of paint. We reworked the open-plan living and kitchen area, tackled the mould, and improved the ventilation to help create a healthier and more comfortable home.

The goal wasn’t simply to make the flat look better.

It was about making the space work better too.
A brighter layout, improved airflow and a more practical living environment have completely changed how the property feels.

And the best part?

A very happy tenant! ❤️

Every project comes with its own challenges, but it’s the transformations like this that remind us why the work is worth it.

What do you think of the transformation? 👇

Trust is a bit like an umbrella…you don't always think about it until the weather turns and suddenly you're very glad you have one!

This photo got us thinking about how much trust matters in construction.

You can have the plans, the schedule and everything organised, but let's be honest… things don't always go exactly to plan.

A delivery might be late.
The weather might decide otherwise.
You might uncover something unexpected once the work starts.

That's just part of building.

What matters is how you deal with those things.

For us, trust comes down to some pretty simple things:

👉 Keeping people updated.
👉 Being honest when something changes.
👉 Having the conversations that sometimes aren't easy.
👉 Listening to what the client wants.
👉 And, most importantly, doing what you said you would do.

Having your home or building project turned upside down can be stressful enough without wondering what's happening or waiting for someone to get back to you.

That's why good communication is such a big part of how we work.

And we suppose there's something quite fitting about this photo being taken under an umbrella. 😂☔

The umbrella doesn't stop the rain, it just makes being caught in it a whole lot easier.

Construction can be a bit like that.

You can't always control what comes your way, but having the right people around you makes a huge difference.

Because at the end of the day, good construction isn't just about what we build. It's about how we work with the people we're building for.

And yes… sometimes that means sharing the umbrella! 😉

✨ A Little Before & After From Nan’s 2-Bed Property ✨

There’s something quite special about working on a property that has a story behind it.

This bathroom was part of the refurbishment of my nan’s 2-bedroom flat, and it’s a great example of how much of a difference thoughtful renovation can make.

The original space was tired and dated, but the aim wasn’t simply to make it look new. It was about creating a bathroom that feels clean, practical and comfortable for the next chapter of the property.

From the old fittings and flooring to the fresh shower, modern finishes and brighter feel, it’s amazing what can be achieved when you look at a space differently.

And this is just one part of the transformation. There’s plenty more to come from this 2-bed project. 👀

It’s projects like this that remind us why we love what we do. Taking a property with potential and giving it a new lease of life, while keeping the practical side of things firmly in mind.

Before ➡️ After.
What a difference.

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO BUILD SOMETHING GREAT… 🏡

Or create a home that works better for the way you actually live.

The latest UK renovation data shows just how many homeowners are choosing to improve the properties they already have. In 2025, 49% of UK homeowners surveyed by Houzz carried out a renovation, while 46% were planning renovation work in 2026.

And there’s a good reason for it.

For many homeowners, moving isn’t necessarily the answer. Sometimes the better option is to look at what you already have and ask:

Could this space work better?
Could you create a bigger kitchen?
Could an extension give you the extra room you need?
Could an outdated property be brought back to life?

Or could a different layout make the whole home feel more practical?

We see this a lot with the projects we work on.

Every property is different, and every client has a different reason for renovating. Some want to improve their home for the long term, while others are looking to modernise a property, increase its appeal or prepare it for sale.

The important thing is getting the planning right before the building work begins.

So, whether you're thinking about an extension, a refurbishment or simply making better use of the space you already have, it’s worth exploring what’s possible.

Sometimes, you don't need a new property. You just need to see the potential in the one you already have.

A message from 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗘𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀:

This Week on Site... Dust Gets Everywhere!

Whoever first said, "We'll just knock one wall down..." clearly never had to clean up afterwards!

We’ve been renovating our own home recently, and it’s reminded me of something I tell every customer before we start...

Dust gets everywhere.

And I really do mean everywhere.

You can close doors, tape up openings, cover furniture and clean up every evening, but somehow you'll still find a fine layer of dust on something you were convinced was nowhere near the building work.

It's almost like it's got a mind of its own.

People often apologise for mentioning the mess during a project, but honestly, you don't need to. We completely understand. It's your home, not a building site, and having people in and out while your house is turned upside down can be stressful.

That's why we always try to treat every home with the same respect we'd want in our own.

We'll protect floors, keep things as tidy as we possibly can, vacuum up at the end of the day and do everything we can to minimise disruption.

But there are some things no builder has managed to invent a solution for yet...

Like dust!

The funny thing is, spending this week living through our own renovation has reminded me exactly what our customers go through. Walking around furniture that isn't where it should be, making endless cups of tea in a temporary kitchen and wondering how on earth dust has managed to find its way into a room that hasn't even been touched.

It isn't glamorous.

But it is temporary.

The inconvenience only lasts a little while, but a well-planned renovation can transform how you live in your home for years to come.

So, if you're about to start your own project, here's my advice...

Buy plenty of dust sheets.

Keep the kettle somewhere easy to find.

And accept that you'll probably be finding plaster dust for a few months after we've gone!

Trust me... even builders can't escape it.

It's amazing what a well-planned refurbishment can do.

This kitchen had good bones, but it no longer worked for modern living. By rethinking the layout, upgrading the finishes, and giving the space the attention it deserved, we've transformed it into a bright, practical kitchen that's ready to be enjoyed for years to come.

Every refurbishment is different. Some are simple cosmetic updates, while others require careful planning and problem-solving behind the scenes. Whatever the challenge, our goal is always the same: deliver a space that looks great, functions better, and adds lasting value.

Whether you're a homeowner looking to refresh your property, a landlord preparing for new tenants, or planning a larger renovation, we're here to help bring your vision to life.

See the transformation.
