We have spent the last two days out and about across devon clearing paths and surveying future projects. We have some very interesting work coming up over the next few weeks.

We will post more as they take shape. Stay tuned for more information. I think the parishes involved will see some very big changes..

Here's a few interesting facts about "Green exercise. Or as we used to call it.

"Walking in the countryside"

Does walking in the countryside increase good health and wellbeing" I asked AI

Yes. Walking in the countryside actively promotes both physical and mental wellbeing. Extensive research shows that "green exercise"—combining physical activity with nature—lowers stress hormones (like cortisol), reduces blood pressure, and increases self-esteem.The Benefits at a Glance Mental Health: Regular countryside walks decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. The peaceful setting lowers levels of negative rumination while releasing mood-boosting endorphins.Cardiovascular Health: Brisk walking builds stamina, increases blood circulation, and lowers the risk of heart disease.Joint & Muscle Strength: Uneven, rural terrain engages and strengthens core, leg, and back muscles, while also improving balance and coordination.Immune Function & Sleep: Organic compounds released by trees and plants can boost the immune system. Furthermore, exposure to natural light and fresh air helps regulate your circadian rhythm, leading to better sleep. The "Dose" of Nature Research shows that spending at least 120 minutes per week in nature—whether in one long weekend walk or several short bursts—is significantly linked to higher psychological wellbeing.

Even more reasons to use your local public rights of way..their yours by right. Enjoy them.

Good People of Newton Abbot and Highweek

On Wednesday the 10th of June and Thursday the 11th we will be closing the path behind Combeshead College called Foxwell Lane.
This closure is to enable us to carry out essential maintenance work. The route marked in Blue on the map is the designated alternative route and the area marked in Red is the section that will be closed.

Please avoid the closed area as it will not be possible to walk through. Closure signs will be in place as well as official notices.

We will close the route each day at approximately 09.15 and re-open it at approximately 15.00 each day, to enable pupils and parents to use the path.

Today's vegetation cutting work was carried out in the Tedburn St Mary parish. The pictures are from the footpath 7. We also cleared fp3 in the same parish. Unfortunately the conditions weren't marvellous for taking pictures there

Tomorrow we are working on a private country estate. Sorry no photos

Did I mention we also carry out private and commercial work as well.
