💚 NETWORKING IN THE MIDLANDS 💚

Recently our Briggs & Forrester Midlands Region welcomed over 100 clients, partners and colleagues to Revolucion de Cuba for their annual summer drinks reception.

We celebrated another fantastic year of working closely with our valued clients to deliver successful projects across the Midlands Region.

The evening was hosted by regional directors Matthew Linekar and Simon Drinkwater, also supported by other members of the Briggs & Forrester team including managing directors Will Newman and Duncan Benedetti.

We hope everyone had a fabulous evening catching up with old friends and making new connections.

🌱 POWERING A GREENER CAMPUS 🌱

We’re proud to have delivered the decarbonisation of Nottingham College’s Highfields Campus as Principal Contractor.

From air source heat pumps and solar PV to LED upgrades and a new BMS, this project will:
✅ Save ~118,000 kWh of heat loss annually
✅ Cut CO₂e emissions by 19.7 tonnes each year
✅ Deliver long-term energy and cost savings

A fantastic example of what can be achieved through collaboration, the project was delivered under the Pagabo Mechanical and Electrical Framework and part-funded by the Salix Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, reinforcing the shared ambition to reduce carbon emissions across the education sector.

⚙️PROJECT PROGRESSSION ⚙️

Briggs & Forrester Living continue to make strong progress with the installation of MEP services at Grand Union, the waterside luxury apartment development in Wembley.

Block F2 1st fix works are now complete from ground floor to level seven, with 2nd fix progressing down to level two and commissioning having commenced on the upper floors this week.

In Block E2, 1st fix installation has advanced from level 17 down to level two, while 2nd fix is currently progressing down to level ten, with commissioning scheduled to begin in the coming months.

The project is being delivered for the Berkeley Group, and will provide more than 500 high-quality residential apartments across four blocks rising up to 17 storeys, offering a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes across private, shared ownership and affordable tenures.

🏫🌱TRAINEE CHALLENGE: LOCAL COMMUNITY IMPACT 🌱🏫

Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services Midlands Technical Trainees recently took on a volunteering and community impact challenge – fully planned, managed, and delivered by them from start to finish.

Over the past few months, they’ve been preparing for refurbishment works at Forest Oak School in Solihull – a fantastic local SEN school supporting children aged 4–18.

From engaging with our supply chain to secure materials, to carrying out site visits and completing risk assessments, the trainees demonstrated real ownership and collaboration throughout the project.

Over three days, they were joined by colleagues to bring the improvements to life – sanding, painting, and transforming the school’s outdoor garden areas into a refreshed and welcoming space for students and staff.

🏗️ BUILDING MOMENTUM AT THE GATEWAY LIVERPOOL 🏗️

Briggs & Forrester Northern Region have fully commenced the mechanical, electrical and public health works on site at The Gateway, Liverpool with significant momentum now visible across all blocks, as key first-fix installations advance including:

✔️ Vertical stacks nearing completion (Blocks A–D)
✔️ Ductwork and sprinkler first fix progressing
✔️ Hot & cold-water services now underway
✔️ Electrical containment and landlord wiring advancing
✔️ Apartment electrical first fix started on Tower A

This continued progress reflects the strong coordination on site, working alongside client and developer Legacie, and keeps The Gateway firmly on track as a landmark addition to Liverpool’s cityscape. As a mixed-use development, located as the centrepiece of the ‘Pumpfields’ regeneration zone, the development will consist of four New York inspired skyscrapers featuring a contemporary design.

Further updates will follow as works continue to advance across the development.
