Sometimes it’s the smaller changes that make the biggest difference.

This recent bathroom update was all about making the space more practical and accessible, adding a shower over the bath and creating a much more usable setup for the homeowner.

It may not have been a full bathroom renovation, but the finished result feels cleaner, more functional and makes everyday use that little bit easier.

A simple update, but one that’s made a real difference to the space.

Another job completed by the Building Solutions Norfolk team.

Progress on our latest Norfolk project.

Since our last update, things have moved on quickly. The existing windows have now been removed, areas of the front elevation have been stripped right back and the team are working through the remedial works needed to put previous issues right.

This is one of those projects where getting back to a solid base and doing everything properly is key. Plenty more work still to come, but a big difference already.

We’ll keep sharing the progress as we bring this one back together. 🔨

Another project complete 🏡

A look at the finished exterior of this two-storey side extension, designed to give this family significantly more space while making clever use of the footprint available.

At ground-floor level, the extension has created a much larger kitchen area along with a brand-new downstairs shower room at the front of the property.

Upstairs, the existing front bedroom has been opened up and extended into the new addition, while a completely new bedroom has been created to the rear.

One of the most interesting features of this build is the design of the first floor. The upper storey extends further out than the ground floor, creating a cantilevered overhang. This allows the homeowners to gain additional floor space upstairs while still retaining access down the side of the property.

A great example of how the right design can maximise the space available without compromising on practicality.

There is still plenty happening internally, with the homeowners taking on much of the flooring and decorating themselves, but we’ll be sharing a few more finished details soon. You may have already spotted the downstairs shower room we completed too.

For now, this one is all about the exterior 👏

New project underway.

The team got started on this one this week, carrying out remedial works to the front of the property and putting right some issues left from previous work.

There’s plenty to be stripped back, rebuilt and made good, with new windows also forming part of the works.

And, of course, the resident site supervisor has been keeping a very close eye on the boys to make sure standards don’t slip… 🐶😂

We’ll share more as this one progresses.

A bathroom with a story behind it 🇲🇦

As part of this two-storey extension, we created a brand-new downstairs shower room but this one was always going to be a little different.

Inspired by the homeowners’ travels to Morocco, the whole space has been designed around details and memories brought home from their trip. The beautiful brass basin and tap were actually brought back from Morocco by the family and became the starting point for the design.

From there, the patterned tiles, deep blue cabinetry and brass finishes have brought everything together to create a really bold, characterful space that feels completely personal to the home.

We love being able to build spaces that aren’t just practical, but have a story behind them too.

And this is only one part of the much larger two-storey extension we’ve recently completed, more to come from this project soon. 👀

A transformation worth swiping for 👀

From a dated, tired kitchen to a bright, fresh and much more practical space.

The Building Solutions Norfolk team have completely renovated this kitchen, giving it a full new lease of life with new cabinetry, worktops, appliances and a much cleaner, more modern finish throughout.

It’s amazing what can be achieved without needing to completely change the footprint of a room.

Swipe through to see the before ➡️ after… the difference is huge.

Lots happening on site with this two-storey extension 👷‍♂️🔨

We’ve shared a few updates from this project already, and it’s really starting to take shape now.

Downstairs, the extension is being opened up into the existing kitchen to create a much larger kitchen space, while the front section will become a new shower room. Underfloor heating has been installed, the plumbing is going in and the shower room is being prepared ready for tiling before the shower, toilet and basin can be fitted.

Upstairs, new structural steels are now in place and the existing front bedroom has been opened through into the extension to create a much bigger room. A new radiator is also being fitted to accommodate the increased space, with plastering and finishing works next on the list.

At the rear, the new upstairs room, which will be used by the family as a bedroom/home office is almost complete and ready for them to decorate.

And today, Ryan was busy with one of the biggest changes downstairs breaking through from the existing kitchen into the new extension. 👏

Still plenty happening, but a huge amount of progress since our last visit. We’ll keep you updated as this one moves into the the final stages.

Another project complete for the Building Solutions Norfolk team 🏡

This Norwich renovation has been a brilliant project to follow from the early stages right through to the finished result.

What was once part of the garage has been completely transformed into an additional bedroom with its own en suite, including new windows and brickwork to completely change the appearance of the front of the property.

The work didn’t stop there. The entrance and hallway have been transformed too, with extensive internal alterations, plastering, new flooring, internal doors and a new front door, creating a much brighter and more modern entrance into the home.

There have been plenty of structural changes behind the scenes to make the new layout work, alongside the bathroom renovations we’ve shared previously, including both the upstairs family bathroom and downstairs bathroom.

Like many renovation projects, this one has brought its challenges, particularly with the family continuing to live in the property throughout, but seeing everything come together has made it all worthwhile.

These photos are just a small look at part of the finished transformation and what a difference it has made to this home.

A huge thank you to the homeowners for trusting the Building Solutions Norfolk team with their property.
