🙌 TAKING DRAWING INTO PRINT! 🙌

Today we started the first of ten sessions of 'Taking Drawing into Print' and got stuck in playing directly with the ink doing monotype printing!

We'll be exploring more monoprint next week and then moving into intaglio - drypoint, etching! After that we'll also cover kitchen lithography and lino!

👉 FANCY TRYING MONO PRINTING? 👈

Our next short course is on Tuesday 1st September, 1.30-4.30pm!

Mono printing is a great starting point for trying out ideas in printmaking! You'll learn how to create marks, tones & textures without a press, and also how to explore printing from a plate using the etching press!

There's so much possibility in this one technique and everyone's prints end up completely different which is super exciting!

If you're looking for a longer course, this technique is also covered on our beginners courses and Taking Drawing into Print!

On Saturday, Laura ran a jam packed day of soft ground etching! She shared techniques used in her own practice and the group managed to produce plates with line, tone and texture in just 6 hours!

Laura's next weekend course is two days of etching, covering hard ground and soft ground on the 24th & 25th if October! Sign up now!

That's a wrap on our Parent & Child summer sessions! It's been fantastic seeing young people enjoy the studio and we hope you're feeling excited about all things print!

We hope to see you again some time and that parents will check out our longer workshops too!

These Parent & Child workshops will be on offer through the year during holiday times, so keep an eye out for more dates coming soon!

We love welcoming new faces to the studio and the Autumn is often when things get a little busier with people starting new projects or discovering us for the first time!

September marks the start of our 3rd year at Clarence House and our community is growing! We now have 26 members, 3 new tutors and have welcomed some younger printers into the studio over the summer too!

There's lots on offer in the autumn and more seasonal options to come so keep an eye out or sign up to our newsletter!
