A nice little order of couplings heading up to bonnie Scotland!

These are destined for a customer building their own wagons and will provide a strong and reliable way of keeping the train coupled together.

Part of our medium duty range, these couplings are manufactured here in the UK and have proven popular with customers building locomotives, wagons and passenger stock alike.

If you're visiting MRW over the next few weeks, prepare to be welcomed by our Head of Sales, Yukka.

Yukka has been pawtrolling the workshop looking for new people to say hello to and making sure all visitors receive a proper welcome.

Whilst the real boss (Kathy) is away this week, Dan has been left in charge of our Ukrainian rescue from Paws Help UK. So far she seems to have settled into her new role at MRW rather well.

This week marks a birthday for one of MRW's biggest supporters and team members.

Dave has been helping MRW behind the scenes for a number of years, assisting at events as well as helping with product development and improvements.

As a qualified boilermaker who spent many years working at the Severn Valley Railway, Dave certainly knows his way around a steam engine. Along with his son Thomas, he has well and truly caught the steam bug and is currently building a 7 1/4" gauge Holmside locomotive.

It is not often we get the chance to celebrate the people who help make MRW what it is, but we really do appreciate the wider team of supporters and friends who help us behind the scenes.

Happy Birthday Dave, and thank you for all your support!

We are getting this Titan loaded up today in its packing crate ready for export to Germany.

This particular locomotive has all the bells and whistles, including sprung buffers, a sound card and an additional air cooling system due to the heavy loads it is expected to haul.

We are in again this weekend putting in some overtime to get customer orders out. There has been a lot moving through the workshop recently and it is great to see products heading out the door and onto railways around the world.

If you are in the market for a top quality large locomotive then look no further than a Titan. We have had rave reviews from existing customers and are proud to be supporting the hobby with what we believe is a first class locomotive.

Just what you need this weekend!
Our MRW Keyring - 10mm Spanner & Bottle Opener
These stainless steel 4mm thick keyrings are excellent for always having a 10mm spanner in the pocket. M6 bolts are no longer a worry for a tight situation, making them perfect for regular users of our Jubilee portable track. The bottle opener cut out also makes them great for a cold beverage at the end of a day's running!

The first of our current batch of 15 flat wagons are making their way through the workshop.

We are here at MRW all weekend doing some overtime to get customer orders out. We continue to be blown away by how popular this product, alongside some of our other favourites, has been over the last 6 months. It is great to have your support as customers, and we are looking forward to seeing more of our products heading out onto railways around the country as the weather starts to improve.

The flat wagon has gone through some minor design tweaks since our last batch of 4, and we are very pleased to show these today. They include improvements to the assembly methods, making assembly and maintenance easier, along with a smaller buffer beam which we feel gives it more of a wagon appearance.

The last of the current batch of 5" gauge Jubilee ramps has been wrapped and packed ready for dispatch.

Designed to solve a surprisingly common problem, these ramps allow a siding to be added to an existing railway without cutting, modifying or rebuilding the track already in place.

Simply drop the ramp onto the running line and connect your siding. Ideal for adding extra flexibility without the cost and effort of installing a permanent set of points.

This particular example is heading off to a customer looking for a quick and simple solution without the expense and disruption of rebuilding part of their railway.

Trailers can be a controversial subject in the miniature railway world!

Over the last six months, we've spent our spare time rebuilding this trailer for Top Field Light Railway, the registered charity that helped start MRW back in 2018.

What started as a refurbishment soon became a near-complete rebuild, with new brakes, a new floor, new lights, new wheel bearings, new mudguards, new track for carrying rolling stock, a complete repaint and nearly everything else we could think of!

We've also spent time testing it behind a variety of tow vehicles to make sure it performs exactly as expected, and we're pleased to say it's now ready for service.

This weekend the trailer will be making its debut at Crown Point, Norwich, where it will be transporting a significant part of Top Field Light Railway's portable railway, including all of the MRW track and coaches.

We don't offer trailer rebuilds as a service (and this project has certainly reminded us why!), but we're proud to have helped the charity that played such an important part in MRW's beginnings.

For Sale - Wörner B4 - High Speed Precision Bench Drill

Used Wörner B4 400V 3 Phase precision bench drill. This was a premium machine when new and is a high quality well-made piece of equipment. Suitable for applications small high precision such as clock making, scale model making etc. It features pulleys that allow 8 different speeds (650 rpm through to 12,000, see front plate in images). It also can be converted to run off an inverter for precise speed control and this is included in the sale, but has not been installed.

Features

This drill is 3 phase operating on 400V therefore will not run on a 3 pin standard household plug. It has a 5 pin 3 phase plug installed - please check compatibility with your set-up, otherwise a 4 pin conversion may be required, which is not difficult. The drill features a work light, depth stop and is height adjustable. There are 8 speeds that are selectable via changes to the belt and pulley drive system. T slots in the bed allow workpieces to be secured effectively and safely.

Dimensions (Approx.)

Height - 46cm
Length - 54cm
Width - 26cm
Weight - 36kg

Condition

The drill is in good used condition and operates well. The body is not perfect - this is a decades old machine and there are scratches and missing paint here and there, but it is generally in very presentable condition. There are some small holes drilled into the bed under the spindle as seen in the pictures, however these do not affect operation. We bought this drill at least 3 years ago with the intention of using it for model making, in which time it was PAT tested but has remained unused. We have deemed it surplus to requirements due to having other similar equipment and is up for grabs for someone who will be able to get some use out of it. We are not a machine dealer so it is sold as seen with no guarantee.

This is also listed on eBay so we reserve the right to remove this at any time.

Looking for offers around £600. £75 shipping or collection from our Nottingham workshop.
