Trailers can be a controversial subject in the miniature railway world!
Over the last six months, we've spent our spare time rebuilding this trailer for Top Field Light Railway, the registered charity that helped start MRW back in 2018.
What started as a refurbishment soon became a near-complete rebuild, with new brakes, a new floor, new lights, new wheel bearings, new mudguards, new track for carrying rolling stock, a complete repaint and nearly everything else we could think of!
We've also spent time testing it behind a variety of tow vehicles to make sure it performs exactly as expected, and we're pleased to say it's now ready for service.
This weekend the trailer will be making its debut at Crown Point, Norwich, where it will be transporting a significant part of Top Field Light Railway's portable railway, including all of the MRW track and coaches.
We don't offer trailer rebuilds as a service (and this project has certainly reminded us why!), but we're proud to have helped the charity that played such an important part in MRW's beginnings.
