Tom takes us behind the scenes of a very exciting project we introduced you to recently.

As part of a much bigger project, we’re turning our attention to this old indoor arena, with plans to transform the space and give it a new lease of life.

There’s plenty of work ahead, and we can’t wait to show you how it all comes together.

For Tom, it comes down to attention to detail, quality workmanship and delivering a project on time.

Getting the details right from the start can help prevent costly issues later on, while using the right materials and construction methods helps create facilities built for long-term use.

And with careful planning and communication, clients know what to expect and can plan around realistic timescales.

Whether it’s an equestrian facility or a sports construction project, the aim is the same: quality workmanship, a well-managed build and a finished result that does the job it was designed to do - and in turn, a project that we can return to ten years down the line and it still looks the same.

We’re delighted to introduce you to this new project, a new property for our clients and we’ll be redesigning and transforming the entire yard.

There’s a lot of work to do in a short space of time, but as ever, we are excited by the challenge.

Keep your eyes peeled for updates - we can’t wait to show you what we are working on.

Equestrian construction may be where we’re best known, but it’s not all we do.

When embarking on a project it can be tempting to take shortcuts or do things yourself, but investing in professional help is well worth it.

Planning permissions can be one of the biggest hurdles in equestrian development. Understanding how to work with your local authority, what information they need and how to present your proposals can make all the difference.

At Tomley Projects, we have the experience to guide projects through the planning process, including in more sensitive areas where a considered approach is essential.

For this project, our brief was to transform unused land into a purpose-built facility where a competitive polo-playing family could train, exercise and care for their ponies at home.

From the 70m x 35m arena and bespoke polo fencing to the American barn, Monarch stables and covered horsewalker, every element was carefully considered to balance performance, practicality and aesthetics.

With the layout, access, drainage and essential services all planned as part of the wider development, the result is a yard designed to work as seamlessly as it looks.

This is another example of how thoughtful planning and quality construction can transform a space.

One of the most popular features on our stand at London’s Global Champions Tour in the summer was our fencing, and it’s easy to see why.

Fencing requires so much more thought than you might think. We consider everything from the intended use and ground conditions to durability, maintenance and aesthetics, helping create fencing that works practically while complementing its surroundings.

From traditional post and rail to modern Horserail and low-maintenance Duralock, the materials and style you choose can make a real difference to both functionality and the overall look of your yard and property.

For us, there’s nothing quite like seeing a project come together after all the meticulous planning and hard work in the process.

This project involved transforming a field into smart and practical turnout paddocks, with fencing, gateways and access routes all thoughtfully designed around how the space would be used.

It’s a great example of our approach to equestrian projects: tailored design, practical solutions and precision construction, all working together to create a space that’s built around the needs of the yard.
