✨ Flashback Job | July 2009 ✨
📍 Netley Chapel, Southampton
A proper trip down memory lane with this one. Back in 2009, we were proud to erect the scaffolding around Netley Chapel, an iconic landmark on the Southampton Water shoreline.
The chapel is all that remains of the former Royal Victoria Military Hospital, built in the mid-1800s and once the longest building in the world. It has stood through wars, weather, and generations of history, and today it remains a powerful and much-loved local monument.
This was no ordinary scaffold. The structure had to carefully wrap the chapel’s striking tower and copper dome, providing safe access while fully respecting the building’s historic fabric. Precision, planning, and experience were absolutely key.
Even all these years later, this is a scaffold we’re really proud of. It’s a reminder that great scaffolding isn’t just about access, it’s about protecting history and enabling important restoration work to happen safely.
Throwback jobs like this show how long we’ve been trusted with complex, heritage projects… and why we still love what we do.
