✅ Iso-Therm Installation Complete ✅

A great result on this project where the property had previously suffered from dampness associated with historic cavity wall insulation issues.

Following the removal of the original cavity wall insulation and replacement with a modern polystyrene bead and resin system, the original moisture pathway is understood to have been resolved.

To provide a long-term solution and improve the internal environment, we installed the Wykamol Iso-Therm system, creating a thermal break between the internal finishes and the external wall construction. This helps improve surface temperatures, reduce cold spots and minimise the risk of future condensation-related issues.

✔️ Iso-Therm installation complete
✔️ Plastering complete
✔️ Decoration complete

The transformation is now finished, providing a warmer, cleaner and more comfortable living space for the customer.

Another Iso-Therm insulation project underway ✅

This property had previously suffered from dampness following historic cavity wall insulation issues, where moisture bridging within the cavity allowed moisture transfer across to the internal leaf of the external wall construction.

Following removal of the original cavity wall insulation and subsequent replacement using a polystyrene bead and resin-type system, together with the information provided by the customer, it is considered that the original moisture pathway has likely now been resolved.

As part of the remedial strategy, we are now installing an internal thermal lining system to help separate the internal finishes from the affected substrate, improve surface temperatures and assist in reducing future condensation risk 🙂

Update on this week’s moisture-control project in 📍

Following our initial findings, works are now progressing well onsite 💪

The affected wall areas have now been fully protected, meaning no further moisture pe*******on can occur through the treated surfaces. A membrane system has now been installed, followed by insulation fitted between the battening system to help create a warmer internal environment and reduce future condensation risk.

The room is now drylined and ready for decorating, with works moving onto the next area tomorrow 👌

A good example of why correct diagnosis is critical — understanding the difference between condensation-related moisture issues and true structural water ingress allows the correct specification to be installed from the outset.

New job started this week

On initial inspection, we identified some underlying issues within the property.

Environmental readings show a high internal moisture load, combined with a very small temperature-to-dew-point difference — meaning moisture is easily forming on cooler internal surfaces.

The existing dot and dab plasterboard lining appears to be absorbing and retaining this moisture, leading to localised saturation of the internal finishes.

Interestingly, the underlying blockwork is not showing the same level of saturation, suggesting the issue is concentrated at the lining interface rather than penetrating through the full wall construction.

In simple terms, this points towards a condensation-related moisture problem, rather than full structural water ingress.

We’ll now move forward with the correct specification to control the environment and prevent recurrence 💪

This project was carried out using a BS1022 compliant basement waterproofing system, installed to specification and in line with required standards for long-term protection and performance.

All works have been completed, with the space now ready for the follow-on trades to take over and continue the fit-out.

This system includes:
✔ High-performance wall cavity membranes
✔ Floor drainage membrane system
✔ Perimeter drainage channel
✔ Water management system ready for testing

Unlike traditional tanking systems, Type C waterproofing manages water movement, ensuring moisture is safely directed away from the internal structure.

All works are undertaken in line with BS8102:2022 – Protection of Below Ground Structures Against Water Ingress.
