With the bank holiday done and dusted, we're straight back on the shop floor. 👌

The machines are running, material is loaded and the first jobs of the week are underway.

With turning, milling, cylindrical and centreless grinding all available in-house, we'll be putting our full manufacturing capability to work across the week's production, keeping control of quality, tolerances and lead times along the way - as always!

Materials are moving in thick and fast. 💪

Another length of bar stock is loaded and ready for production.

Our Hydrafeed Limited automates material feeding, meaning bar stock can be advanced into the machine as each component is produced, reducing manual handling and keeping production moving across repeat batches.

More time machining, less time stopping to reload.

We’ve added another important accreditation to our credentials - 𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗥 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. ✔️

This strengthens our position as a supplier to organisations operating across aerospace, defence and other highly regulated sectors.

For prospective customers, it also means much of the supplier due diligence is already in place, helping make the procurement and onboarding process more straightforward.

Programmed and ready to go. 👌

Before CNC grinding gets underway, it's all about getting the set-up right.

Grinding parameters, wheel position, speeds, feeds and the cycle are programmed and checked at the control before we run the first component.

Once the first part is complete, it's over to inspection to verify we're achieving the required tolerances and surface finish before the rest of the batch continues.

Ready to start a new batch of cylindrical ground parts using our Fritz Studer AG S31 CNC. 👌

Capable of grinding components up to 350mm in diameter and 1,000mm in length, it combines internal and external grinding in a single set-up to produce precision components with exceptional accuracy and high-quality surface finishes.

Looking forward to seeing the finished batch!

Machining Monday!

We're kicking off the week on one of our three machining centres, with a working envelope of 𝟳𝟴𝟬𝗺𝗺 𝘅 𝟳𝟴𝟬𝗺𝗺 𝘅 𝟭𝟲𝟲𝟬𝗺𝗺 and fitted with a precision MicroLoc workholding system from Micron Workholding.

This set up helps keep components firmly in place to support precision machining and reliable repeatability. 👍

Just over a month ago, we installed the Vicivision 309 Prima Optical Measuring Machine from OGP UK - and it's already making a real difference. 👍

Components can now be inspected in as little as 30 seconds, helping us reduce inspection times while improving productivity, repeatability and reducing waste.

It's been a great addition to the shop floor, and we're looking forward to seeing the benefits continue.
