Last September, our friend and colleague Sam suffered a severe traumatic brain injury.

After months of surgeries, complications and specialist treatment, Sam is now being cared for at a specialist neuro-rehabilitation centre, where he continues to show incredible strength every single day.

Sam joined Cinergi as an apprentice and quickly became a hugely valued part of the team. Anyone who knows Sam knows exactly the sort of person he is. He’s always the first to help someone out, the one who keeps everyone laughing on site, and someone customers instantly warm to. He’s massively missed by all of us.

To support, Sam and his family, many of the team at Cinergi will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge this September. Climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all (hopefully) within 24 hours. The money raised will go towards home adaptations needed to help bring Sam home to his family and loved ones.

Apprentice Heating Engineer Wanted!

Start a career in plumbing, heating and renewable energy. We're looking for an Apprentice Heating Engineer to join the Cinergi team and learn alongside experienced engineers working on a range of domestic and commercial projects across the South of England.

This is a hands-on role where you'll earn while you learn, combining college-based training with real-world experience on site. You'll gain practical skills in plumbing, heating systems, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and renewable energy technologies while working towards your Domestic Plumbing and Heating Apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will assist with system design, technical calculations, customer proposals, and project coordination. £9,000 to switch to a heat pump!

Homes using oil and LPG have been hit hardest by volatile fuel prices. The government has responded with a temporary increase in the Boiler Upgrade Scheme for homeowners moving from oil or LPG to a heat pump.

For everyone else, the existing £7,500 grant eligibility remains unchanged, continuing to support those moving away from fossil fuels.

This £1,500 grant uplift for off-grid properties is a great opportunity for homeowners to future-proof their homes with clean, renewable energy.

If you’re considering making the switch, the increased £9,000 BUS grant applies to installations from July, so now’s the time to start planning!

It’s nesting season, and birds love solar panels because they create a warm, sheltered space underneath.

But allowing birds to move in can lead to a range of problems:
🔸Damaged cables, which could create a fire risk
🔸Blocked airflow can mean overheating and reduced solar output
🔸Maintenance to repair wiring or remove debris from under you panels or guttering
🔸Unwanted noise, like scratching at the crack of dawn

🕊️ While we love nature, birds’ nests belong in trees and hedges. If a nest is being built or in use, it’s also illegal to remove or disturb it.

That’s why bird protection on solar panels is essential to prevent problems before they start. It will help keep your system running efficiently all year round.

Where can I put a heat pump?

The best place to put an air source heat pump is on an external wall of your house. Its neat, saves having to dig any trenches and is the most efficient. But there are other options. Some customers opt to place them elsewhere in the garden. Your heat pump needs good air flow and a solid base, but you may also need to consider any noise and that longer pipes may lead to more heat loss. If in doubt, we can help you explore your options.
