Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) have gained significant attention thanks to their ability to encapsulate and deliver mRNA.

In this publication, researchers used the Asia Flow Chemistry System to investigate the development of mRNA-LNPs through microfluidic preformed vesicles (PFVs) production followed by a postencapsulation approach. They demonstrated an ability to predict the size and the EE% of LNPs based on the composition, process parameters, and physicochemical properties of PFVs.

Using microfluidics and machine learning meant that the relevant information could be obtained, even with limited resources and time. Read the publication: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsabm.5c01883
