When our clients have a problem, Griffin Installations finds a solution.

Recently, the facilities management team at Media City, Salford, approached us with an unusual challenge. An electrical feeder pillar and its underground cable chamber had become a regular route for rodents, creating an ongoing maintenance concern.

Rather than applying a temporary fix, we carried out extensive research to identify a long-term solution. This led us to Filoseal, a specialist duct sealing system designed to prevent rodents from travelling through underground cable ducts. What impressed us most was that the product provides a humane solution while also being completely safe for installers and maintenance personnel.

Once the solution had been identified, Griffin Installations produced the project costs, RAMS documentation, procured the materials, and completed the installation, protecting the feeder pillar and underground chamber from future rodent ingress.

Another Bespoke Commercial Project Completed by Griffin Installations

Our Trafford Park client needed to expand their growing gym, originally built from two converted shipping containers. Griffin Installations was tasked with creating a seamless extension that matched the existing facility.

The project involved groundworks, concrete pile foundations, structural modifications, installation of a new 20ft x 10ft container, external insulation, roofing, electrical works, lighting, air conditioning relocation, and a complete internal fit-out.

By carefully replicating the original design and finishes, we’ve delivered a professional new training area dedicated to free weights and circuit training.

When our clients have a problem, Griffin Installations finds a solution.

Griffin Installations finished last week strongly with the successful completion of another challenging project at Building 8, Princess Parade, Liverpool.

Working at the very top floor of the building — home to vital mechanical systems including lift motors, boilers and air conditioning plant — our team was tasked with repairing a faulty metal louvre access door leading onto the roof. The original riveted hinges had completely failed, requiring the damaged rivets to be carefully drilled out, new heavy-duty hinges installed and the door professionally re-hung.

With work being carried out at height, safety remained the top priority throughout. Our engineer operated using a full safety harness and secured line system attached to an internal structural pillar, ensuring the work was completed safely and to the highest standard. The repair was completed successfully, restoring safe and secure roof access for the client.

Elsewhere, our multi-skilled trades teams continued supporting clients across the North West:

• Monton – Installation of a new pressurised hot water cylinder for a domestic client.

• Salford – Bathroom refurbishment progressing well, with walls dot and dabbed ready for plastering.

• Ellenbrook – Internal pipe repair completed within a domestic bedroom, with works carried out carefully and efficiently to minimise disruption to the homeowner.

• Media City, Salford – Electrical ducting made fully vermin-proof through the installation of FiloSeal duct sealing systems. FiloSeal+HD provides a durable seal for cable and pipe duct configurations while still allowing future access for additional services or maintenance works if required.

We love a challenge at Griffin Installations — and this one has been a great project to be part of.

A valued client approached us to extend their already popular gym, originally built from two converted shipping containers. With demand growing, they needed more space — and a practical, high-quality solution.

After a full site survey and detailed planning, we brought together the right team to deliver the project, including specialist contractors for air conditioning, electrics, and container retailers.
