The training has helped strengthen our teams’ ability to identify potential issues before they become failures, supporting a more proactive approach to maintenance. Investing in the development of our engineering team is key to driving continuous improvement and ensuring our site continue to operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

A huge thank you to our engineers for their engagement throughout the programme, and to the training provider for delivering the workshops and supporting the development of our teams.

We were pleased to attend the Lincoln College Careers Expo for the second time.

It was a great opportunity to meet so many enthusiastic students, talk about the work we do at JG Pears Group, and discuss the apprenticeship opportunities available across our business.

Events like this are always valuable for us, allowing us to connect with the next generation, share insight into careers within our industry, and highlight the wide range of opportunities available. Pictured is our Engineering and Electrical Manager, who joined us on the day to speak with students about careers in engineering and the opportunities available within our sector, giving them a valuable first-hand insight into what a career in the industry can look like.

Thank you to Lincoln College for hosting such a well organised event. We look forward to continuing to support local students and future talent.

Last week at Newark, some of our engineers, alongside a colleague from our construction team, successfully completed their Working at Heights course. This training is not just a tick-box exercise, it’s vital for keeping our people safe when working at height, understanding the correct use of equipment, and spotting potential hazards before they become incidents.

Investing in courses like this ensures our team are confident, competent, and able to carry out their roles safely. It’s about more than compliance, it’s about protecting our people, building skills, and fostering a culture where safety and professional development go hand in hand. We’re proud to see our colleagues taking these important steps to enhance their knowledge and keep everyone safe on site.

This investment will make a meaningful difference, enabling safer and more flexible training sessions and match preparation during darker evenings and throughout the winter months.
