Delighted that our engineer, Dexter Sheppard, successfully completed his F-Gas Category 1 qualification last week at Polar Pumps Ltd 👏

We’re delighted to welcome Oscar to the team at Mattair as our newest Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer.
Oscar recently completed his NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Systems and joins us with 3 years of hands-on industry experience gained with a specialist refrigeration contractor.

During this time, he has developed strong experience in the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of industrial and performance-critical refrigeration and climate control systems. His technical background includes working with low-GWP technologies such as CO₂ and A2L refrigerants, alongside specialist applications requiring high levels of reliability and control performance.

Oscar has also earned industry recognition through the 2025 ACR Cooling Industry Awards, where he achieved 3rd place in the Refrigeration Apprentice of the Year category and was named a finalist for Air Conditioning Apprentice of the Year.

We’re excited to have Oscar on board and look forward to the skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm he will bring to the Mattair team.

Another successful A/C maintenance visit completed at a 35-storey residential building.

Our team has been on-site carrying out a full service to ensure optimal system performance and indoor air quality. This included:

• Cleaning and treating indoor units to eliminate odours
• Cleaning filters to maintain strong, efficient airflow
• Checking all indoor connections for reliability
• Cleaning outdoor units with universal coil cleaner to improve airflow and efficiency
• Conducting indirect leak checks across all systems
• Inspecting all units for visible signs of wear and tear

A comprehensive report has been completed and shared with the customer.

A/C Installation – Sheffield 👏
Great work from our engineers completing an air conditioning replacement for a long-standing customer in Sheffield!

We removed a 25-year-old cooling-only system that had reached the end of its life and replaced it with a new Mitsubishi Electric ducted system — now providing both heating and cooling for year-round comfort.

The upgrade means quieter operation, improved energy efficiency, and lower running costs 🙌

A/C Installation – Rotherham School
Our engineers have been busy completing an air conditioning installation for a school in Rotherham. This project involved replacing end‑of‑life units on a like‑for‑like basis to maintain a comfortable learning environment.

The existing system was fully decommissioned and removed, with new exterior pipework installed. We then supplied and fitted two Mitsubishi twin split systems to provide efficient cooling and heating for the classroom all year round.
