Supporting local communities from the grassroots upwards ⚽

Here at Grant UK, we enjoy working with local clubs and schools to support the next generation. Through initiatives and partnerships like our Kick the Carbon programme, we have supported local communities either through education or other support.

One of our most recent sponsorships is supporting the Galaxy Girls Under-11s Team at FC Chippenham Youth. FC Chippenham Youth was established over 50 years and they promote the development of football for children living in this market-town in Wiltshire. Grant UK is pleased to be supporting the Galaxy Girls for two seasons – here are the some of the team in their new kit!

Have you listened to our Podcast about Start with Grant? 🎧

Last month, we released another episode of our Net Zero Heating Show podcast when we were joined by Nesta and two installers to talk about how living with a heat pump can build installers’ confidence with this technology.

In case you missed it, you can listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Buzzsprout. Download it today to join the conversation about how installer experiences can be transferred from their homes to those of customers.

Heat pump opportunities for installers

National Heat Pump Week is drawing to a close and today, attention is on installation and skills. Low-carbon heating systems are now part of the heating landscape and heat pumps offer plenty of opportunities for installation businesses. For Government targets to be reached, installers need to upskill which is why schemes are available to help engineers make the transition to heat pumps, including:

▪️Start with Grant – This Scheme, run in partnership with Nesta, provides eligible installers with a fully funded Grant heat pump system for their home, giving them the opportunity to install and live with a heat pump
▪️Heat Training Grant – This Government funding is designed to help eligible engineers undertake their heat pump training pathway by completing OFTEC heat pump training and assessment

Consumer demand for heat pumps – is it there?

The spotlight today for National Heat Pump Week is moving to consumers, their demand for heat pumps and the confidence they have in the technology. Consumer education about heat pumps is something we feel is incredibly important and it is why we have developed resources which are designed to help homeowners fully understand this type of renewable heating:

▪️Research and planning – Our Knowledge Hub features guides, blogs and case studies for homeowners researching a heat pump for their home
▪️Find a Heat Pump Installer search – Our network of G1 Heat Pump Installers can talk to homeowners to discuss whether a heat pump is right for them
▪️Customer handover – The handover of a heat pump system between an installer and the homeowner is an important part of any installation so we have video tutorials and dedicated guides designed to help installers with their customer handovers

Policy for shaping and supporting the heat pump market 🗣️

National Heat Pump Week is putting the focus on policy, markets and scale today and discussing how policy connects with the industry and can hinder or support progress. Grant UK is a member of HPA UK who is the independent trade association representing the heat pump industry. As a HPA UK member, we work with other manufacturers, installers, energy companies and others to discuss the policies needed to help the UK successfully transition to low-carbon heating.

What support or changes do you feel is needed to strengthen and secure the deployment of air source heat pumps here in Great Britain Comment below, share your thoughts and join the conversation to shape the next steps for the heating sector.

Decarbonising commercial buildings 🏢

Commercial and industrial heat are the focus of National Heat Pump Week today. When it comes to decarbonisation, low carbon heating systems are needed not just for domestic applications but also for commercial buildings. Solutions are needed which are practical and tailored support is required to help those managing commercial properties so that they can be heated with air source heat pumps.

Take a look through some of our case studies which show Grant air source heat pumps providing a low-carbon heating solution for a variety of applications from schools through to council offices:

▪️Grant heat pumps installed at Milton Keynes PRU School
▪️Colchester Football Club goes green with an Aerona³
▪️Aerona³ heat pumps help Caerphilly Council be more sustainable
