Penetrating Damp Project Completed in Alton ✅

We recently completed a penetrating damp repair in Alton. The affected plaster was removed and replaced with a specialist render containing water- and salt-inhibiting additives to help prevent future issues. The walls were then finished with a smooth multi-finish plaster, ready for decoration once fully dried.

We recently transformed a dated Artex ceiling into a modern, smooth finish. This is why proper preparation is key. While some situations can’t be helped, if you’re in any doubt, it’s usually best to treat the surface as though it needs stabilising. A stabilising solution can help strengthen the surface before you apply your SBR, PVA, or grit coat in the normal way.

Another ceiling repair completed this morning in Basingstoke.

The ceiling had become bowed and partially detached from the joists above due to a historic leak. We removed all damaged plasterboard back to a sound surface, installed new 12.5mm plasterboard, and reinforced all joints with scrim tape to minimise the risk of cracking.

After applying a coat of Pink Plasterers Blend SBR, we finished the repair with two coats of Multi-Finish plaster, leaving a smooth, seamless finish ready for decoration once dry. ✔️
