As previously mentioned, we have grown our pool of inspectors, they have been kept very busy over the last few months and have grown to understand the Duke Austin ethics. We have found our new inspectors very enthusiastic and a great asset to the team.

After a long 12 months our trainee inspector based in Australia has passed his audited inspection. Earlier this month we were able to organise an inspection for his audit in Europe. A long way to travel but well worth it. Congratulations from the Team.

Duke Austins inspector pool is growing; we have been joined by some very enthusiastic newly accredited inspectors. It has been a pleasure introducing them to the Duke Austin Management System where they can keep us updated with their inspections progress and schedules.

Another addition to the DA office is highly qualified Steve McColl; his wealth of experience has brought fresh ideas to the table as he and Mel, Finance Director steer the DA ship forward.

It has been exceptionally busy with SIRE 2:0 inspections especially in the Baltic area, having inspectors based there it has made the expediting a little easier and looking to recruit further inspectors in that region can only be positive.

Earlier in the month Willie & Steve took time out to attend meetings in USA catching up with Clients and Associates. From the office there has been the organising of Terminal Audits in Chile and interesting TMSA’s up North as they say!

As March is ending with April already knocking on the door, the goal this next month to organise our trainee inspector Audits and the onboarding of new inspectors.

🌍 From Tropical Heat to Arctic Chill – Just Another Month at Duke Austin & Company ❄️🔥
January has wasted no time showing off its extremes. So far, we’ve been asked by clients to support SIRE vetting inspections in locations that couldn’t be more different if they tried.
At one end of the scale: remote Weipa, perched on the north-west tip of Queensland, Australia, where inspectors are working in +30°C tropical heat ☀️
At the other: Sundsvall, near the Arctic Circle in north-east Sweden, where one of our inspectors faced a bracing -25°C ❄️
With SIRE 2.0 inspections, every assignment starts long before boots hit the ground. When clients send through inspection requests, we review the full job details — especially the port location. For certain regions, that means going a step further with enhanced due diligence, including checks against official Government sources to assess local safety and security conditions.
Using the Duke Austin Management System, every inspector confirms they have reviewed our Standard Risk Assessments. And when an inspection location demands extra attention, an Extra-Ordinary Risk Assessment is completed — ensuring all risks are identified, mitigated, and managed before the inspection begins.
Different continents. Different climates. Same commitment to safety, professionalism, and doing the job right — wherever in the world our clients need us. 🌐✔️
